The perfect depiction of rugged, Gilded Age Men’s “The Speed” collection mixed a unique palette of clean and sporty looks. The result? That man who seems to nail style on the head while still looking like he doesn’t give a *^$%! The rebellious nature of the collection was represented in lots of black, grays, olives, and deep indigo sweaters and tees while the overly dyed denims and saturated burgundy jeans paired with scarves and leather relays that this guy is conscious of style. What’s more? The brand is socially conscious, devoted to organic, handcrafted and artisan approaches!

[Post-treatment, starting the blow dry process]
Ladies, we all know what a good hair day can do for your self-esteem. For this reason alone, I must highly praise (and thank) the Milbon Linkage Meu treatment I recently received at its launch party at the Rita Hazan hair salon on Fifth Avenue.
Linkage Meu is a quick, three-step salon treatment which regenerates the quality of your hair. Designed to be an additional service to a salon’s normal offerings of cut, color and blow dry, the Linkage Meu treatment consists of a shampoo, conditioner, and final coat, plus aroma therapy and a home care component. Cohesively, it protects and conditions to provide silky, smooth, pliable hair.

After writing last week about really expensive fashion pieces that are also really stupid, I don’t want to discourage you from investing in a piece of luxury fashion all together. There are pieces that can impressively enhance and upgrade your wardrobe. Here are three really expensive pieces of fashion that are totally worth it.
Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Speedy ($750 – $825) – It’s classic. It’s iconic. It comes in several sizes. And, yes, it’s been knocked off a million times. But the authentic one is a great investment piece. You can wear it with jeans or a little black dress. This little number will always add an element of sophistication to your ensemble. Pajamas were clearly on the mind at Duckie Brown today. Plaid oxford shirts were shown with matching billowing pants that evoked luxurious English nightwear. Even the models’ hair was reminiscent of an idealized, glamorous bed-head aesthetic. Tailored jackets in tweed, plaid, and tartan were paired with loose fitting sweaters and bottoms. The designers were conservative with color, however, sticking to mostly black and grey tones with splashes of navy and green. The only exception was a particularly bold purple and orange plaid that seemed rather out of place within the context of the rest of the collection.
Overall, designers Steven Cox and Daniel Silver presented many wearable items that remained conservative enough to satisfy the average men’s fashion devotee but at the same time attempted to push menswear out of its safe and familiar confines. The design duo will do it again this spring for a new audience, when the create a much buzzed about designer collection for Perry Ellis.
