I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the warmer weather to peek around the corner and then be here for good. It looks like it may actually be happening now, which is GREAT since I’ve tested and stockpiled a bunch of beauty products that are perfect for the warmer months. Below you will find my list of must-haves, along with some field notes on what makes them so awesome for the upcoming season.

Aveeno Fresh Greens Blend Dry Shampoo ($8.49, Walmart.com)
Unwanted oil and grease in your hair this summer will go ba-bye with this volumizing dry shampoo that smells amazing thanks to oats, rosemary, peppermint and cucumber. The sulfate free dry shampoo also possesses o dyes or parabens, and is perfect for a steamy day to humid night transition, especially if there is no time for an actual hair wash. Actually, who am I kidding; I never have time for an actual hair wash, so regardless of the season, this is my new go-to!

Rahua Smoothing Hair Balm ($28; Rahua.com)
If you’d rather not deal with the frizz that the warm weather can produce, slip this balm into your bag, and treat your hair to the smoothing salve it deserves. Suitable for all hair types, it adds in some hydration and shine with a touch of light scent that can come to the rescue when ‘beachy hair’ goes awry.

Dove 0% Aluminum Deodorant ($5.99, Target.com)
I’m very excited that Dove has this new deodorant offering, as I’m a huge fan of the brand and always think that natural deodorants are best practice in theory, but sometimes, especially in the summer, I need coverage that I can trust to keep me dry and fresh. Available in four scent options (pomegranate and lemon verbena, cucumber and green tea, coconut and pink jasmine, blue fig and orange blossom), what you won’t find in this formulation is aluminum and alcohol, but what you will have is 24-hour odor protection and Dove’s signature 1/4 moisturizing component to reduce aromas and irritation.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Gel Lotion Weightless Moisturizer, $36, Ulta.com
When the weather is sticky and hot, the last thing I want is something thick and goopy on my face. The new moisturizer from IT Cosmetics is pretty perfect, as it is lightweight and oil-free, retains the hydration for 72 hours, and includes the stuff you’ll want, like ceramides, glycerin, and cactus flower extract to keep your skin soft, supple, and plumped to perfection.

Alba Botanica Maximum Sunscreen Clear Spray SPF 70, ($15.99; AlbaBotanica.com)
Now that I have a baby, when it comes to skincare for us and for him, I only use brands that I trust, and naturally Alba Botanica fits the bill. The latest edition to its thoughtful sun care lineup has a high SPF, is clear, fragrance free, and considered a reef friendly, biodegradable formula. It’s safe for us to use, and a brand I can support as it does not test on animals nor contain artificial colors, synthetic fragrances, parabens, phthalates, oxybenzone, octinoxate or sulfates. I also use the brand’s fragrance free, 100% vegetarian ingredients, and VERY important, tear free kids mineral sunscreen formulation for the little guy, as literally everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, goes into his mouth…

La Roche-Posay Anthelios 60 Melt-In Sunscreen Milk ($35.99, LaRoche-Posay.us)
There’s something just so luxurious about La Roche-Posay skincare products, and I’m currently crushing on the brand’s Melt-In Sunscreen Milk, which is effective and gentle enough for both the body and face. When you first dab it to your skin it looks like a thick cream, but miraculously transforms to dissolve quickly into the skin as a light and airy concoction. Comprised of a mix of antioxidants and La Roche-Posay’s signature thermal spring water, the sunscreen is water resistant (up to 80 minutes), allergy tested, and acceptable for sensitive skin. So many wins in one product!

eos Active Organic Lip Balm Aloe with SPF 30 ($3.29; Target)
While the jojoba oil, shea butter, and Vitamin E lock in softness and moisture, the dermatologist tested formulation is also gluten-free, petrolatum & paraben-free, certified organic, and has SPF for UVA/UVB protection. Don’t undercut the value of taking care of your lips in the sun just as much as you would the rest of your skin. Additionally, as a fun little seasonal pick-me-up, check out the Tropical Escape Collection, which includes fabulous flavors such as the guava lip scrub, pina colada, as well as the pink coconut and island punch lip balms.
