We all need to hit the reset button from time to time, and there’s no better place to do it than at The Lodge at Woodloch. Located in the Poconos region of eastern Pennsylvania, The Lodge is an adults-only, luxury destination where peace of mind prevails and nature shines at its absolute best.
Situated upon 500 private acres and opening up to its 15-acre private lake, Woodloch redefines the notion of the very concept of an all-inclusive stay*, with gourmet dining, exceptional service, and activities galore. For the indoorsy, a state-of-the-art gym and robust class schedule allows your usual fitness routine to resume while away, but the outdoors beckon with an archery range, bicycles, fishing rods, kayaks, and fireside s’mores available at a moment’s notice.
Or, settle in for some leisurely reading from your exclusive porch, one of the numerous benches on or off the paths surrounding the property, or laying down, from the comfort of a gently swinging hammock. Worried about bugs? It’s fine – repellent wipes (and sunscreen with an SPF of 30) are provided complimentary to keep you protected and ensure you take in just the right kind of nature as you had intended!
It’s difficult to discuss The Lodge at Woodloch, however, without mentioning the spa; in fact, this entire post could be about the spa alone! The crown jewel of the property (in my opinion), at 40,000 square feet it boasts a fantastic steam room complete with the aroma of eucalyptus wafting about, a perfectly steamy sauna, and relaxing whirlpools, with the highlight being an outdoor infinity pool cascading from the edge of the deck. If only I could just sit and soak forever, letting the minutes melt away while enjoying the skyscraper trees and lush landscape in the distance. A unique aspect of the The Lodge at Woodloch is that all guests have access to the spa amenities, regardless of booking a treatment, so if a hot tub soak is more your thing than a facial, your needs will be met, and then some, by this fantastic spa complex.
For me, however, the more spa treatments I can experience the merrier, which made narrowing down my choices difficult, as The Lodge offers so many wonderful options. In the end, I chose one of the sleep treatments, The Sleep Ritual, which was an incredibly soothing massage that extended into my life outside of the property, thanks to the dreamKit I received as part of the treatment. It includes a botanical mist, serum and cream which beckon sleep to come, along with specialized sleep music and an instructional guide to better Zzz. As a person whose new life as a mom means nights upon nights of interrupted sleep and overall not enough of it, anything I can use or techniques I can employ to get into a better place is much needed!
Taking home the dreamKit was the physical reminder of a marvelous stay at The Lodge at Woodloch, but the memories will live on until the next time I’m able to escape for a few days to this paradise in the Poconos!
