Around the end of July, I stretched my arm as far back as it would go into the depths of my closet, and pulled out a few pieces that were quietly biding their time, waiting patiently to be worn. In all honesty, somehow it had eclipsed my mind that they were there, which probably means I have too many items…

Take Me to the Water
Although NYC is 100% surrounded by water…river views never get old, and finding an empty bench or waterfront walkway pretty much NEVER happens. When I was in Long Island City, Queens and sunset was approaching, I spotted a great opportunity to pause and take in the sites and sounds. Central park is great but a view of the city scape across the soft waves? Even better!
As you may recall, I’m big this summer on the brightly woven huarache look, and wore it on this day via my accessories of my handbag and heels, while my clothing remained in a soft palette of cream and dove grey. I also went matchy matchy with my bracelets and earrings, pairing the vibrant shade of blue found in the shoes with summer-ific turquoise jewelry.
In This Look:

Jaeger Linen Skirt (c/o the brand)
DVF Prescription Sunglasses
Rebecca Minkoff Tote (c/o the brand)

What FPD Wore: Fall 2014 Fashion Week, Day 6

Despite the frigid temperatures, ice, and snow on the ground, I’ve also had a cold ALL of fashion week, but with lots of vitamin C, I’m thinking I’m on the mend. I layered my J.Crew wool sweater underneath of my top for added warmth, and also worked a new bag into the fashion week outfit rotation – an Alexander Wang Rockie Crossbody Satchel look-a-like (everyone keeps thinking it’s the real deal!) for just $29.99 at T.J.Maxx — score!
Here’s what I wore on Day 6:
The clothes:
Gap Motorcycle Jacket
Le Tote Carnaby Mod Blouse (courtesy of the brand)
J.Crew Merino Wool Crew Neck Sweater
Club Monaco Moto Zip Pants
Fit to Flick Beanie (courtesy of the brand)
