New from Cetaphil: a Scrub, Body Wash, & Eye Cream!

Cetaphil has launched some great new products lately, but there are three in particular that I’m simply raving about: Cetaphil Extra Gentle Daily Scrub (around $8.47), Hydrating Eye Gel-Cream (around $8.59), and the Ultra Gentle Body Wash ($7.99).

Let’s start by discussing the scrub: it’s gentle enough that you can use it on your face daily, as the name implies, but possesses the tiniest granules, nearly invisible to the eye, to help promote circulation and cell turnover without any abrasion. It’s great for all skin types, including those of us who have THE most sensitive of them all.
Next up is the eye cream: it makes sense for a brand that is so conscious of  skin concerns and issues of all kinds to create a product for the most delicate area of them all – your eyes! This gel-cream is not surprisingly, super safe for contact lens wearers and those with sensitive eyes, in a formula that absorbs with the quick power of a gel, but hydrates like a cream. Hyaluronic acid locks in moisture while Vitamins E & B3 work to soothe and soften around the eyes. If you’ve ever had an eye cream that burned, tingled, and/or made your eyes water, something wasn’t quite right. It’s time to give it another try with an intensively moisturizing, non-irritating formula such as this one!

Last, just like how the eye cream seems to be a natural progression for the Cetaphil brand, so does a body wash! I love the fresh citrus aroma of the new wash, but you can also opt for a fragrance-free version. Give to Charity While You Moisturize with Cetaphil and Camp Wonder

If you need to get some moisturizing cream, why not pick up a bottle that will go toward children in need? For a limited time, Cetaphil is donating a portion of the proceeds from its special edition package of the Moisturizing Cream (available at Walgreens) to Camp Wonder, a camp for kids ages 7-16 with serious and fatal skin diseases. Funded by the Children’s Skin Disease Foundation (CSDF), Camp Wonder is located in Livermore, California, and gives children the opportunity to be themselves by having fun, playing, and learning for a week despite the serious challenges that they may be encountering in their lives.

It costs $750 per child for a week of camp there, so every little bit counts! Plus, who couldn’t use an extra skin cream in their cabinet? Starting in September, purchased this specially marked jar for $14.99; Cetphail has alraedy donated a $100,00 grant to the camp as well as products to the children attending for camp and at-home use. Go Cetaphil!

Summer Travel Bag Essentials

Quick weekend getaways are part of the summertime fun,  and I have a checklist and routine of the items that I generally include, sometimes keeping a pre-packed bag ready to roll for a last-minute trip! Here’s a break down of some reliable summertime go-tos when making a quick escape!

(From left to right): A sturdy bag that can accommodate as much or as little weight as you desire is a must (Liz Claiborne bag); a dress that can work in day and evening and won’t wrinkle is a must (dress by Persifor); a straw hat for the beach or mid-day strolls is important to protect the face and scalp from the sun (hat by Hat Attack); a chic, sleek one-piece bathing suit is easy to wear and pack (Norma Kamali one piece); and shorts with pockets that can be beachwear, workout wear, or sleepwear are extremely helpful (shorts by Puma).

Get into Spring with Some New Fab Nails, Hair, and Skin Products

Here at FPD, we believe spring is about rejuvenation. That is why we were so thrilled to take part in Lippe Taylor and Shop PR’s VIP Open House to learn and experience some of the newest beauty treatments of the season.

Terax Hair Care -Moisturized hair is simply a must in the beauty world. With the focus on creating healthy hair from the inside out, Terax avoids any sulfates, salts and artificial colors. The “Crema” ultra moisturizing daily conditioner ($16) is the hero of the line, remaining unchanged except for a fresh new scent.  Known to be a cult favorite (it works on all hair types), you will definitely want to get your hands on this conditioner to heal breakage and dryness. Can also be used as a deep conditioner!

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi – In using the fragrant juices from the Awapuhi ginger plant to replenish hair, Paul Mitchell has created a new line of products (see here). Ranging from the Keratin Intensive Treatment ($22.46) to the Texturing Sea Spray ($16), the Awapuhi line is making waves in more ways than one. Many of the products were named 2011 Award winners in Allure Magazine. Whether it’s lush texture or beachy waves, you’ll find the ideal product to work with.

Sensationail by Nailene – I also received my first ever gel manicure, courtesy of Sensationail by Nailene. The do-it-at-home Starter Kit ($59.99) includes all you need for 10 applications, each lasting two weeks. I had my eye on the scarlet red color from the get-go, as I was really feeling the idea of “power red” to aid my busy week. The sensation of no-dry time was almost too impossible to believe! As I ever so delicately put on my coat (the innate fear of smudging still within me), I was reminded of the bliss of the product’s durability. I could rummage around my bag fearless for the first time ever, post-mani!
