Today was a bit hectic, with a slew of backstages, great shows, and a ton of writing and editing. I went Instagram on my outfit, showing a few of the pieces that got me through the day. Per usual, as many MiMi by Sorrelli turquoise pyramid bracelets I can fit on my arm (and in my earlobes), my favorite Marc by Marc Jacobs matching top and tiered ruffle geometric skirt, some Vera Wang Lavender Label nude wedges from my Mom, and unfortunately some moleskin (seen below) to patch my feet, which aren’t used to such high heel abuse on a daily basis!

Fashion Week Day 4: What FPD Wore
Today was Sunday, so by normal standards, that means people are “off-duty” and can dress in their favorite weekend gear. Not so for fashion week, but because my feet needed a little reprieve, I decided to build a look from the bottom, up, starting with my most comfortable pair of sandals! I also added an extra element to my look via the Beyond the Zone Color Buzz temporary color for hair in Pop Pink; it’s a chalk-based hair color from Sally Beauty that let’s you have some fashion-worthy punky tresses for a day! I added some color just to the tips for a light-catching glow.
I bedecked my digits in my favorite crysal bedecked Avon ring, and one of my favorite MiMi by Sorrelli pyramid stud rings that added a glistening effect to my hands every time I reached for my camera (which was frequently!).
The night was capped off by an intimate dinner with the team from NARS Cosmetics and some fellow bloggers at the lovely La Palma restuarant in the West Village. I was early (for once) and snapped this pic before any one else arrived; doesn’t it look just so magical and romantic?

New York Fashion Week Spring 2013 Collections: Norisol Ferrari, Joy Cioci
[All images via MBFashionWeek.com]
The Show: Norisol Ferrari
The Theme: “Think the curves of Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth and Rita Moreno. Strong, confident women who command attention, desire and respect.” Translation: red lips, statement hats, the accentuated waist, peplum, and figure flattering dresses.
The Color Palette: Classic, sophisticated neutrals- white, black, grey, nude
Best/Collection’s Signature Standout Look: Think “Mad Men”. Think brunch. Think of a strong woman in love. Whether that translates to the amazing black leather-like capris or the sexy corset bodices, and/or final array of gowns, what stood out the most was the sheer confidence in Norisol Ferrari’s models: old and young.
The Show: Joy Cioci
The Theme: Mermaid meets the 1920’s; vintage glam and fantasy make for a true beach party
The Color Palette: Crystal-like ocean blue, purple, pearl and white, and loads of embellishment/lace.
Best/Collection’s Signature Standout Look: Joy Cioci managed to make the beach feel highly romantic. Models looked mermaid-esque in lace crop tops, flirty blazers, and pencil/pleated skirts. Dresses moved with models dancing in the sand, and yet, leggings proved to be a must-have for SS13. Swimsuits and swim caps naturally held their own, but it was the unexpected shell embellished dresses and gowns that made bold, however graceful, waves.
PS. — (pictured above): A to-die-for caviar white bubbly nail manicure by CND nails made the look come full cirle
