The Show: Peter Pilotto for Target
The Theme: The Print-Happy Power Player
The Color Palette: orange, navy, black, lime, crimson
The Signature Look of the Collection: Holding an event that kicked off fashion week, visible first-hand were the highly graphic pieces from the lineup, such as a “look-at-me” punchy printed pencil skirt packed with graphics to a lime and periwinkle retro bathing suit. The CFDA winning designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos have now dazzled the fashionable hearts of many across the country, in a collection that has beach pieces as well as office attire. Their signature silhouettes are replicated in the dual length envelope graphic skirt and its splashy prints reminiscent of artfully placed paint splatters.
The floral and geometric splashed apparel and accessories will hands-down make even the most timid of souls embrace confidence in the limelight as they take center stage. So banish your drab winter neutrals to the back of the closet for this gorgeous and highly affordable collection, available at Target now, online and in stores, with about 70 items coming in at under $60 apiece!

The Show: Katie Gallagher
The Theme: Refined Luxe meets Nostalgic Goth Runaway
The Color Palette: Onyx, oxblood, slate, and black
The Signature Look of the Collection: Katie Gallagher reflected an eerie, dimly lit monastery in her goth-inspired pieces. Inspired by abandoned amusement parks, Gallagher opted for darker hues such as onyx and slate. Slicked back hair with a luminescent shine hinted at sportiness, which supplemented her nylon jackets’ seam details and ponte crop tops. Gallagher’s menswear-inspired garments featured crisp shirtdresses and textured trousers that would be seen along the likes of Man Repeller devotees. On the other side of the style spectrum, exaggerated, droopy hair bows hinted at a more feminine, childlike quality. which aimed to epitomize the decay of youth. To compensate for the ubiquitous black pieces, sheer tights and chiffon sleeves featured a chaotic swirl of black lines akin to carousels for a touch of patterning.

Day 3 of New York Fashion Week, per usual, fell on a Saturday, which also incurred a bit of train delays and walking — thank GOODNESS I had comfy clothes on! It was a big show day, taking in Monique Lhuillier, Herve Leger, Mara Hoffman, Adeam, and more, but I somehow managed it all with gusto. The trends are certainly beginning to surface, so stay tuned for trend reports coming shortly. In the meanwhile, here’s what I wore:
