At 620 Avenue of the Americas, bargain hunters abound, from the basement, to three stories up. What is this magical place? Well here’s a little New York City history for you: this building once comprised the upper section of the Ladies’ Mile; the storied section of blocks upon blocks around the turn of the century known for elegant, gilt, regal department stores, and was the site of the Siegel Cooper Department store. Fast forward to 2012: now it’s a modern-day mecca of shopping which resonates with man, woman, and child — designer, brand-name items at amazing savings! Upstairs you’ll find a T.J. Maxx, while the lower level houses Marshalls. With a $50 gift card in hand, courtesy of the brand, I set out to one particular section in Marshalls: lingerie! I’m still marveling how I managed to zero in on Nicole Miller pieces, who only just recently launched a sleepwear line, pretty much immediately upon entering the department. A perfect cut and gorgeous print chemise that you couldn’t take your eyes off of was selling for $29.99, down from $50-score!
From the same collection, I also found a breezy pullover poncho-style slipover top that can work for bedtime, but also look great with a tank underneath, or as a cover up at the beach. This amazing piece ALSO came in at the same markdowns! Last, I picked up a shelf bra from Natori, one of my favorite lingerie designers, at only $19.99, when the tag below showed it had been retailing at store for $60. NICE! This is actually even a BETTER bargain as it’s a two-in-one piece — both a bra and a tank illusion built in to cover unwanted cleavage. As I just couldn’t decide, i walked away with all three pieces and I can’t wait to wear them!
I’m LOVING my finds — what have you discovered at Marshalls lately that’s been a total steal? Stay tuned too – we are hosting a Marshalls lingerie gift card giveaway this week…
