Most things may be starting the descent into full hibernation mode, but today, fashion and beauty is in full bloom. I’ve got some great products and news to share today from a variety of brands and categories. I hope you enjoy the latest installation of the Fashion Pulse Flash this week, and please take a moment to enter the Tourneau Watch Giveaway, with a chance to win the same watch that I’m wearing, retailing for $760!

Want to talk about marsala? Pantone declared this ruddy, reddish-brown as the shade of the year for 2015, and it’s all abuzz this week. It does have great unisex appeal, and easily transitions to beauty looks and home decor, which I certainly do appreciate about it. It also feels festive and modern at once; what do you think? Do you already own any items that are of the “marsala” hue?
Wednesday night I fully immersed myself into the holiday spirit with MyHabit, sipping on spiked cider and hot chocolate looking onto the idyllic NYC landscape from under a heated lamp, positioned strategically next to The Standard Hotel’s temporary ice skating rink.
A bit about MyHabit — if you’ve never shopped the site, here’s what you need to know: it was created by Amazon.com to live within the private sale site atmosphere, but be set apart by its unique mix of designer, boutique and luxury offerings that encompass fashion and lifestyle, ranging from items for him, her, the littles, and the home. If you’ve run fresh out of gift ideas this holiday season, check out the “Give Joy” section, which has everything from stocking stuffers for under $19 to kids clothes for under $10!
Spread extra cheer this holiday season with this limited edition Happy Heart fragrance ($38) or Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Plumped up Pink ($17) from Clinique. A whopping $10 and $3 respectively from the sale of each item goes toward the Happy Hearts Fund, which is a philanthropic partnership aimed at building schools around the world. Smell good, look good, and feel good knowing that your purchase of these great beauty items will go to helping others; this year, the fund celebrates it’s 10th anniversary, with the foundation being spearheaded by Petra Nemcova. Available at Clinique counters nationwide.
Redken’s Diamond Oil Collection has been out for a few years, but the latest additions push shine to new dimension! The Diamond Oil High Shine Collection includes a new sparkling oil complex that works on all hair types, even fine ones like mine, featuring coriander, camelina and apricot oils found in a shampoo ($18), conditioner ($19), and an airy mist ($22). The gel or silicone-based formulas also include amino acids and proteins to enhance texture, shine, moisture, and strength. Purchase these items by visiting Redken.com for a list of authorized salons.

L.A. Gear is back on the scene! For those of us who were coming of age in the ’80s or even early ’90s, the footwear brand L.A. Gear was hot hot hot! With major pop icons as spokespeople for the brand such as Michael Jackson, Paula Abdul and Belinda Carlisle, the shoes became a coveted, iconic item that became rather prolific during this period of time. Fast forward to today, and they are arriving in the spring of 2015, with the reworking of certain styles such as the KAJ (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) Collection, a running collection for men and women (the TRAWW 6AM collection), L.A. Tech, and a new Creative Brand Advisor, the artist TYGA.
Some very, very cool news though: L.A. Gear is selling authentic shoe styles from a few decades ago, NOT remakes of the older styles via it’s limited edition release. Did you want a pair L.A. Gear Lights in 1992? They could be yours, now! You can purchase them via this site, LAGearOriginals.com.
Unless you’re a stylist, it doesn’t make sense to carry products and tools in your bag, but sometimes you just REALLY need an on-the-g0 hair fix, especially in the winter. Hat hair, beware: the Kérastase Carré Lissant sheets resemble blotting papers, but are meant to take away static and frizz, tame flyaways and block humidity while introducing a lovely signature scent to your hair in the process. Each packet contains a generous 50 sheets, which means it will far beyond you making your rounds on the parties and events holiday circuit. Available for a limited time, the sheets are available for $28.50 at Kerastase-USA.com and at Kérastase Consultant Salons.
It only makes sense that a haircare line is inspired by good nutrition, hence the new Hair Food Care System from Clairol at Target features delectable foods and ingredients, such as kiwi, fig, strawberry, ginger root, and apricot. Your hair type and needs will determine which products to try, but the range is quite inclusive, with options such as root cleansing, volumizing and thickening, and moisture. Plus, you’ll get tremendous value in the gernerously sized portions of shampoos, conditioners, and treatments, being mainly silicone, paraben, and mineral oil-free, ranging from $9.99-$11.99, available at Target locations and online at Target.com.
Samples of some of the products featured in this post were given to Fashion Pulse Daily for editorial consideration.
