Versatile, high-quality garments designed with thoughtful details, while using the best materials available are just some of the defining characteristics of Doncaster, a brand which is now celebrating 80 years in the apparel business. Doncaster skips the in-shop model and sells directly to the consumer, with the aid of consultants, catalogs, and the option to buy via the website. I recently got a sneak peek of spring 2013 via a tour of the collection by Doncaster’s lead designer Patricia Clyne, who truly brought the beauty of the lineup to life with her understanding of a well-polished look coupled with functionality.
The looks featured in the showroom included gorgeous Italian fabrics, tribal prints, a smart, two-toned inverted pleat skirt, bouclé jackets, and nautically-minded blazers and skirts. A special addition for spring includes the limited-edition, exclusive jewelry pieces by Kara Ross, with my favorites including cascading bib and tortoise resin chain link necklaces.
