With Days 1, 2, and 3 down, here’s a look at what I’ve been wearing to New York Fashion Week this season. There has certainly been a sea of black garments spotted on other show goers, with shoes ranging from sandal stilettos to creepers ubiquitous.
Day 1 of New York Fashion Week, Spring 2014 Collections:
Because the tents are built over an empty concrete space, tucked in the south western corner of Lincoln Center, there are huge, powerful vents blasting cold air in, and my friend Darby and I took advantage of this funny photo op!
Today I wore:
BCBGMAXAZRIA Dress (found at T.J.MAXX this summer for more than half off, score!)
Aerosoles SnowPlush Wedges
Linea by Baume & Mercier Watch with a Classic Red Wrap-Around Strap
MiMi by Sorrelli Slim Textured Hoop Earrings
Sorrelli Large Emerald Cut Crystal Ring
BOOHOO Cynthia Chain Handle Bag
BOOHOO Rachel Knot Detail Bracelet
BOOHOO Two tone Chain Necklace

These iPhone cases are so awesome…I just might be inspired to switch out my covers more often to keep all of them in rotation! Part of the Fall and Winter 2013 Tech Collection from D&Y (David & Young) Accessories and all silicone, the Sleepy Kitty, Camera Case with Pop Out Lens as Stand, and Two Tone Handbag Case with Chain add a bit of humor and whimsy to your hardworking phone. I love that the cases are available for the iPhone 4, 4S, and 5, so that you don’t feel guilt for not keeping up with the latest generation of phones, blocked out of getting new cool cases because they are only made for the latest iteration (trust me, I have encountered this issue numerous times already!). Phones are such an extension of ourselves nowadays, that it just feels like an natural evolution of getting a case that expresses your interests and personality; for me, anything kitty-related says it all!
Other exciting offerings from the brand include pyramid and spike stud designs, floral, camo, and skull prints, wallet and flip cases, chargers, and more! You’ll have to wait a few days yet before they are available, so start thinking about what you want; the cases pictured above are also available in different colors.
What design is currently on your phone case?

The season of tan lines and sun burns is upon us. With all of the beach trips and cookouts that summer brings, our skin takes a serious beating in harmful ways that goes beyond resembling a freshly cooked lobster.
But with a little help from your smartphone, the My Own App allows you to personally assess your skin’s health with just a click of your camera. Simply snap a photo of your face, enter your date of birth and skin type and within minutes, you’ll receive an analysis of your complexion. Once the analysis is complete you are given a beauty number based on the amount of fine lines, deep wrinkles, and hyper-pigmentation of your skin along with recommendations on health, wellness and beauty regimes to improve your skin’s health.
There’s also a tracking tool, which lets you see how your complexion changes over time, motivating you to keep up with the recommended skin care and wellness regimen. It’s like having a portable dermatologist right on your phone. With this smart and easy app, healthy, beautiful skin can be yours this summer with a just few taps of your fingers. My Own App is free and available for iPhone, iPad and Android.

[The Raised Stud Style Strap amongst my other bracelets]
I’m all about products that double as “twofers,” so when the opportunity came to test the David & Young iPhone case which can also be worn as a bracelet, I immediately went for it! David & Young has been hocking its stylish accessories ever since it started in the 1977 with a mission to provide goods that lay in tune with the on-trend pop culture and prevalent street styles, initially finding fans in ’80s pop icons such as Madonna and Duran Duran, and now has grown to be available in Macy’s and Nordstrom locations nationwide.
The David & Young Style Strap for iPhone cases that I tested, the silcone AB Rhinestone Style Strap and Raised Studs Style Strap ($25 each, available for iPhone 4/4S), both perfectly enclosed my iPhone for protection but also acted as a cool handle for it when in transit, and of course as a removable strap to act as a bracelet while out and about. When stationary, the strap also acted as a prop to elevate my iPhone off of the desktop surface which I really appreciated, as it kept the phone much safer from liquid spills. After the good ‘ole test run, I’m totally digging the Style Strap — quite a terrific concept at a price that I absolutely love!
