As gorgeous as the fairy-like makeup and hair accoutrement details were, I couldn’t stop staring at the hair from the Chanel Spring Couture 2013 show. Both romantic and messy, the textures were mixed between sleeked back a puffy updo — a very playful and modern evolution of the hair styles seen on the runways, and in real life, the past few years. Lisa Perry’s first-ever pre-fall collection kicks off with some great deep hues and signature shapes that assertively define Perry’s ’60s inspired designs. You’ll find heavier fabrics this time around, such as wool blends, but balanced out for a dose of femininity and softness with silks and taffeta. Our favorites are found in the slideshow above, ranging from a sleek cream look to the form flattering favorite, the “sexy circle” dress in a new color palette.

Alice + Olivia’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection is vivid flashback to ’60s Britain, with the use of plaid, lace, leather, and red and black color motifs giving off an edgy, rebellious style that was characteristic of the period. However, designer Stacey Bendet added a modern twist to the collection with abstract patterns, flattering cuts, playful dresses and elegant gowns. Paired with knee high, heeled black boots – these looks are a contemporary must-have for fall.

Bottega Veneta’s Pre-Fall collection can be considered the perfect transitional wardrobe; with light fabrics and double-faced wool and cashmere, the clothes evolve seamlessly from summer to fall. Pale pinks and lighthearted prints reflect summer while greys, blacks, and leather signify autumn.
