Forget about pyramids and studs– ear cuffs are the new cool, edgy jewelry item to try! From large crystals cascading down the ear to a row of pearls and multifaceted, colorful gems, there’s certainly an ear cuff out there for you! My favorite is the clear cut crystal variety with a vintage aesthetic, as it seems to be the most versatile for a variety of occasions. Instead of placing it through your pierced ear, look for ear cuffs that can distribute the weight by anchoring on your ear via clips at the top and bottom of the piece.
Some will actually cuff onto the top of the ear or run along the outside length while others will come in a set of two, to cuff one on each ear, or to merely place both on one ear (top earring will be placed over the ear cartilage, the bottom on the lobe). Looking for a DIY option? Fina an old broach with a design similar to the cuffs above, buy some earring converter clips to work around the pin of the broach, or resort to some strong jewelry glue like E6000, and affix them to the back of the broach.

With an eye toward fitness and fashion on the rise, it only makes sense that garment offerings for the gym are reaching far behind that category, with a new found versatility that works even when you keep your clothes the same but trade in your trainers for a pair of open-toe booties. I zeroed in on the amazing pants from Athleta, showcasing two different pairs that you can wear per look, and showing how to translate them behind the confines of the gym.
Not only are the pants an incredible fit and my personal favorite, but thanks to hi-tech and hi-quality fabrics, they blend right in for a bunch of occasions, given the perfect top, footwear, and jewels. See below for my top picks, with pants from Athleta that range in hue from grey charcoal to blue denim, creamy white, and even printed, and function from lifestyle and adventure travel to running, the gym/training, and yoga.’

[All Brooches by Sorrelli]
There’s an entire category of carefully constructed, gorgeous jewels that we’ve been neglecting: the brooch!
After seeing the
Jewels by JAR exhibit at The Met and realizing some of the most original, hand-wrought pieces were the brooches, my ESP kicked in and
I predict that brooches will make a great comeback as a statement jewelry item. Let’s take for example, this current winter; we’re all decked out in sweaters and coats ALL of the time (unless you are lucky enough to live in a warmer climate), and let’s be honest here; dressing for in climate weather can be downright utilitarian and fashion-less. Adding a sparkly bauble here and there will add such a great statement to your winter look, that you’ll be a believer once the compliments start rolling in.

First created in the 1970s, Elsa Peretti’s bone cuff for Tiffany & Co has certainly stood the test of time, thanks to its sleek, modern design that seems to never get old. After four decades in existence, it seems like a safe investment, don’t you think? Prices range from $395 for a small cuff in ruthenium (from the platinum family) or black carbon finish over copper styles, to upwards of $23,000 for a solid 18 karat gold version in size large.
That means that this is certainly an item for the bucket list, but you can certainly start fantasizing about what style, size, and wrist (choose from right or left) you’d get, starting now! This cuff really looks amazing with a variety of looks, however I’ve put together some top trends for 2014 (silky blouses, pearl jewelry, mint bags, printed pants) to help transition the cuff into this year.
