Why am I not worried you may ask? Well, perhaps it’s because I’m walking on air – and it’s for no reason other than these Columbia Heather Canyon™ Omni-Heat Boots ($140) — they are so incredibly warm, water-resistant and light! The sound of me dragging my feet on carpet or pavement has been replaced by a joyous, skipping noise – I pretty much have to exert zero effort to lift up my feet in these boots! What they’ve got:
- Water-resistant suede leather upper with faux fur collar
- Omni-Heat technology reflects natural body heat for added warmth
- 200g Thermolite® rated -25/-32C
- Techlite molded material provides cushioning and protection in a lightweight, flexible shell
- Non-marking Omni-Grip rubber compound outsole for optimal traction
These boots really do rock my world- they are ultra easy to take on and off, without any assistance or cussing, and the Omni-Heat Technology (if you’re not familiar with it already) is VERY cool. Although this style doesn’t have it, Omni-Heat Thermal Electric allows the wearer to keep her/his feet warm at the push of a button by activating a patent-pending, battery-powered array of heating elements located strategically throughout the footbed in select Columbia boot styles.

In this look, I’m also rocking the Columbia Fast Trek™ Fleece Headring Omni-Heat® ($12) and the Columbia Reach the Peak™ Down Jacket ($170).

Mondays can be painful. To make matters worse, oftentimes I feel like I didn’t even get a weekend, as there was so many errands to run and loose ends to tie-up that I just didn’t have time to go near during the week. Sunday night, I sometimes feel work week trepidation; I’m anxious, nervous, and even stressed – picking out a cool outfit for Monday the night before can help to get me in the mood to get back into the swing of things. This week, I’m wearing the CAVI Striped Sweater (compliments of CAVI) available in-store at Macy’s and priced at $39.
CAVI offers clothing for the make and female ‘modern consumer’ focusing on classic looks with a twist. In this sweater, angled and draped detailing can be found, with an ever so slight upper bodice accentuation. Garnished with metallic buttons, I decided to further doll the look up by adding my Kenneth Jay Lane crystallized snake brooch over top, layering a Forever 21 cropped crochet sweater underneath, Old Navy khakis, and Alexandre Herchcovitch for Melissa oxfords to round out my personal look. I cannot believe there is snow in NYC again! The East Coast has surely taken a beating the past two weeks, and I’ve pretty much been living in my Sorels while lugging an extra bag to switch into shoes once I’m at the office or an event. I recently received an alternative solution that may actually be a catalyst for me to downsize my bag and shoe switcharoo woes: Däv shoes! Däv started in January of 2008 with a focus on coordinated footwear and accessories that are completely weatherproof, but not sacrificing style in the process. I feel that pretty much everything I have can be classified as stylish (at least according to me), but I’ve noticed that some people give me ‘the eye’ when I’ve been tromping around the office in furry knee-high boots for the past nine hours. I received a pair of cute two-toned pumps for review, and love that I can get away with wearing them, rain or shine. Pictured on me is the Däv Toe Cap Rain Pump, on sale for $44.25 (was $59). I also really like their Rain flats ($30) fashion solid picnic red rain boot ($95) I also recommend that you check out däv’s site and its sale items – there are some super fun silhouettes and colors for a great price.
