With the goal of enchanting spectators into a world of fantasy and mystery, Yuna Yang’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection was as artistic as it was purely magical. Drawing on Frederico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita, Yang crafted her own art, feminine silk and satin garments in shocking colors detailed with signature beading. Suits, dresses, blouses and cropped pants- no style could escape delicate lace, an oversized bow or sparkling crystals. Perhaps the most stand-out piece in the collection was the very last, an all white silk organza gown, the “Zhanna Flower” gown. After seeing an array of blues, lavenders, pinks, and greens, this white dress cleared the canvas allowing spectators to “become one with art,” as Yang had passionately hoped for.
