T.J.Maxx, without fail, has been one of my go-to shopping destinations for my ENTIRE LIFE. How many stores can you say that about? Not many, right? At a recent event with the brand, T.J.Maxx found fresh way to think about shopping, via its Six Degrees of Self-Expression Personas. With the aid of clinical psychologist and T.J.Maxx “Closetologist” Dr. Jennifer Baumgartner, the way that you shop, assemble, and organize your items says a lot about you, but have you ever taken the time to break it down and think about it? Right away, Dr. Baumgartner (Dr. B) affirmed that my diagnosis that I received via the super quick quiz was spot-on (take the quiz to find out yours, here), which surprised me, because after viewing the closets, I was sure that a different one was me! Just goes to show you that sometimes we need an outside perspective to truly know, and understand ourselves.
“I have always been fascinated by the psychology behind our fashion choices, which often times can lead to insights about our inner workings,” said Dr. Baumgartner. “Women want their wardrobe choices to be a true reflection of who they are, which is why they turn to places like T.J.Maxx to find those designer pieces at great prices that give them more possibilities to express their unique style.”
There were pieces, however from each of the closets that I’d love to own, and will scour my favorite store locations for it, and now, can shop online for them too! See below for each of the closets that represent different personas, and I’ve starred the one that was my diagnosis!
Devoted Dresser: You know what works and rock it! You’re decisive inside and outside of the closet.
**Show Stopper (this one is me!): You’re just that! You light up a room with your wardrobe and personality. From glitz to glam, you turn heads the minute you step into a room.
Trend Trailblazer: You live for pushing boundaries and are energized by novelty. Like everything else in your life, you’re not afraid to try new things, including the latest trend.
Free-Styler: You’re a natural! While it may appear a tornado hit your closet, it makes sense in your mind and in the end you execute flawlessly with ease. Your intuition has led you through life and through stores.-
Systematic Stylist: Whether you’re rocking a power suit for a big meeting or a laid back look for drinks with friends, you keep your wardrobe as organized as your schedule.
Closet Chameleon: You can’t judge this book by its cover and definitely not by its fashion! You have the ability to transform yourself depending on environment — accountant by day, and rocker by night!
