And I’m not kidding! The cuts, the quality, the styles – very impressive! My attention recently shifted back to the brand after years of not setting foot in a store when I received a courtesy pair of the Washed Silk Shorts, so I was hoping for more of the same style and fit at the preview, and was not disappointed in the least. From accessories and footwear not afraid of high octane color to soft metallics infused in cashmere and the little red dress, Talbots has got this fashionista’s needs covered! There were some nods to mod 1960s dresses and Jackie-O numbers that are tried and true classics, mixed with modern pieces such as thick bangles, skinny pants, and safari jackets to balance out the looks.
I am almost embarrassed to admit that I had my reservations about the brand, harking back to those moments in high school when my Mom attempted, without much success, to drag me through the signature red door and adorn me in Talbots turtlenecks and suit jackets. To quote my Mom, as of yesterday regarding Talbots,”They have quality garments in designer cuts for a good price.” Mom – I apologize- you were right all along; by the way — do you still have that suit jacket from 1998?! Times have changed, and so do styles (as well as opinions!), but Talbots’ commitment to quality stays the course.
