Introducing Urban Decay‘s newest way to apply eyeshadow: the 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil. With crease-proof and waterproof characteristics, this new launch of eye shadows (available in an array of colors ranging from metallic black to jade green, to golden bronze and more) will cause a revolution in eyeshadow substances. The pigment is stored inside a jumbo-pencil in a creamy, slightly crayon-like substance and is easily applied like normal eyeliner to complete any desired effect. Plus, it is formulated without the use of parabens. It’s easy to apply, doesn’t smudge, lasts well into the night, easy to blend, and unlike other cream-based eye shadows, this one really doesn’t cause creases that can ruin your look – it works with you, not against you.

Out of Sephora’s top sellers/more popular choices of mascaras, the best and least expensive find, we’ve discovered is Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash Mascara, available in “Blackest Black” and “Blue Noir.” Both colors are exclusively available for $18 and can be purchased via any Sephora Store location at the Top Mascaras’ Podium, or online at Sephora.com. We like the Buxom Lash Mascara because it features a round, plastic tooth-comb wand, allowing the volumizing & thickening properties of the mascara to smoothly and evenly distribute the black (or blue) pigments to the eyelashes without clumps or mess. Looks result in a glamorous, full-lash finish in a flash! Apart from Bare Escentuals’ award-winning bareMinerals face powder, we also recommend you try the Bare Escentuals bareMinerals SPF 15 Matte Foundation, which is shine and oil-free.

Usually I strive to reduce my “getting ready time” in the morning, as I am not an early bird and tend to always be on the cusp of being on time or within 15 minutes late. Limiting my product use has become quite essential, which recently has led me to combine my moisturizer and foundation with a tinted moisturizer, and skip curling my eyelashes altogether. I’ve tried primers before, and noticed that makeup artists frequently use them, however I never aknowledged the necessity of one, perhaps because I never used a truly exceptional one. I had the opportunity recently to try the new Givenchy Mister Mat Mattifying Foundation Primer ($30, Sephora), and I’ve got to tell you — it rocked my world! The weightless primer has a gel-like substance, but goes on and melts into the skin almost like a talc. It really evens out your skins surface, and made some red breakout spots around my chin less noticeable. My skin tend to look softer and more seamless than normal, but the real test was when I applied powder to my face: without the primer it seemed to sit more on top of my skin, making it quite evident that my face was on the dry side and I definitely was wearing powder. The Mister Mat Primer can certainly be accredited with a smoother blending of the powder with my face, and now I know that I can never go back to life without primer, especially this one! Now I’ve just got to figure out what to cut out of my morning regimen – I think I can live without those four squirts of perfume!

I’ve never really been a person to wear holiday sweaters or the designated colors for each passing event (red, white & blue for the 4th of Juliy, red & green for Christmas, etc), however I will slightly alter my beauty regimen to bring a little holiday cheer into my look. This year, it revolves around fall/winter nail polish colors – I won’t be caught without a shade of metallic or purple on my fingers and toes! Metallics are relatively festive and have been looking incredibly smooth and much more fluid than they have in years past – my two favorites are Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen’s “Stormy Blue” and the N.Y.C. New York Color Metro Metals Collection in a deep metallic shade that slightly resembles gravel or extremely dark sand. As far as purple polish goes – I will settle for practically any shade! I particularly love the medium hues, sans sparkle or sheen — matte colors are definitely preferred. On my wish list are the “O.P.I Purple with a Purpose” and Sephora’s L18 Raisin shade.
