Rain, sleet, and/or snow -conscious won’t slow you down this time of year, with stylish footwear that we’ve found from Hunter, Bogs, and Sperry Top-Sider to keep you in motion, and regardless of the precipitation situation.

Hunter, the originator of the classic Hunter Welly, continues to update its extensive wet weather collection season after season. Most recently, Hunter took part in an awesome collaboration with rag & bone and together the companies gave birth to a stylish, collection of short and tall wet weather footwear. Ranging from $265-$300, Hunter + rag & bone is comprised of deep neutral colors such as green, navy, and burgundy. This collection appears to be quintessentially British while simultaneously exuding a trendy, metropolitan appeal.  Additionally, Hunter has a wide variety of short, tall, matte and gloss rain boots in almost every color ranging from $100-$200.

The Pacific Northeast is no stranger to wet and cold weather. Bogs, an industrial shoe company based in the Pacific Northeast, began its journey in hopes of providing its consumers with casual and industrial all weather footwear. Prices at Bogs range from $65-$100 and the Bogs collection runs the gamut from a classic tall rain boot to a clog-style rubber shoe. Whether you’re gardening, spending a day out on the farm or planning a hike through the snow, Bogs has got you covered.

Originator of the scuff-free boat shoe, Sperry Top-Sider has been a proponent of versatile all-weather footwear for men and women since 1935. Placing an emphasis on  classic, preppy, nautical style, Sperry Top-Sider has continued to produce innovative, comfortable and stylish all weather foot wear with prices ranging from $100-$200. The Sperry Top-Sider Sable Waterproof boot is a perfect example, the boot takes on an equestrian look through its tall shape and rounded toe. The boot itself is made of skid proof and water proof genuine leather, making this the perfect shoe to wear to work, on a lunch date or a night out  (even in our current, slushy, stormy weather). Additionally, the Highland Snow Boot is a no frills, compact version of the typical snow boot. A little more casual than the Sable Waterproof Boot, the Highland Snow Boot is perfect for sledding, long walks and winter adventures.

Know [and Love] Your Neons: Color-Matching & Styling Tips

by fashion pulse contributor

80’s inspired neons are having a flashy flashback moment! From Nanette Lepore‘s jackets and handbags, to Rag and Bone’s electric turquoise and orange, the Spring 2012 runways popped in anything-but-boring neons.

You can be a total knockout in these hues with a few simple tips and learn how to compliment your skin tone. This is an easy trend to pull off if you simply know your neons, and we are here to help!

For those with fairer skin, hot pink is is calling your name. Avoid green and yellow as these tend to wash you out. If you have an olive complexion, shine on in vivid tangerines and corals. Those with darker skin will stand out in lime greens and bold yellows. Continue reading…

Fall’s Patterns and Prints: Pretty, Provocative, and Perfect

by fashion pulse contributor

Patterns and prints can feel so timeless, while also feeling fresh at the same time. Each season new interpretations of the hottest prints are showcased on the runway. Following are the most on-trend, favorite prints for Fall 2011 that we can’t wait to wear!

1. Plaid – The classic school uniform print has gone from good girl to edgy. Plaid can be oh-so chic on and off the runway. Seen on scarves, bags, pants, ponchos and more, this pattern is always appropriate for fall weather.

2. Polka Dot – A “spot-on” trend right now, polka dots are DEFINITELY making a fashion-forward statement. Marc Jacobs set the tone with his head to toe dotted looks, however for a more realistic approach try micro dot polka dot tights, a sheer polka dot blouse, or even a blazer. This retro-inspired look has proven to be modern one whether done in bright colors or more neutral tones. Continue reading…

What Does One Wear in this Weather?

by fashionpulse

Hot. Cold. Windy. Snow flurries. Hail? Sleet? It’s April – what is going on?  It’s like seasonal Double Dutch this spring. No matter what you put on, it’s too much or too little for the elements. So we decided to put together some color-coded ideas, like chic layers, thigh high socks to replace winter tights, and the right boots for the April rain to help you let go of winter and embrace…whatever this weather is we’re having.

A Dash of Dark

If you’re mourning the late arrival of warm weather, do it with panache with these anything-but-somber pieces. Michael Kors Pea Coat, $145, Rugby by Ralph Lauren Ribbed Turtleneck Dress, $109.99, Missoni Zigzag Above the Knee Socks, $58, Kiki de Montparnasse Fingerless Lace Gloves, $125, Coach Pixy Op Art Printed Rain Boots, $108.

Neutral Territory
