Fleece Lined Tights & Socks for Under $10? Yes, Please!

Winter is absolutely NOT my favorite month, from a weather and style perspective. I’m permanently cold year round, with my extremities always being freezing to the touch, so by the time winter rolls around, I’m pretty much ready to run for cover in cozy fleece pajamas, robes, and throws.

Getting dressed for work can be a challenge, when feeling inclined to wear TWO pairs of pants and shove the skirts and dresses to the back of the closet. There is hope though, in the form of fleece tights and trouser socks!

Pierre Hardy for NARS Collection is right around the corner! Launching May 1st, shop footwear designer Pierre Hardy’s six nail polish sets and two amazingly pigmented blushes, reflecting his signature cubist design. As an added bonus and perfect tie-in, the nail polishes come in a small shoebox accompanied by a dust bag in homage to Hardy’s masterful footwear designs.

The warmer weather has certainly opened up the possibility to lighter fabrications, open toe, and even sandal options in footwear. Kushyfoot steps in just in time with its new foot covers! The range includes ultra low cuts made for straps and fashion forward patterning of pinstripes, piqué-edged lace, swiss dot, polka dot, and even a sport athletic option with arch support and a ventilated mesh top. PASKHO (“passion” in ancient Greek) is the latest luxury endeavor by Patrick Robinson, the fashion designer extraordinaire who has cut his teeth at Armani and later Anne Klein, Perry Ellis, Paco Rabanne, for Target, and most recently GAP. His new brand, priced at $45-$300, describes itself as a ” luxury lounge and active wear clothing line for men and women” that can worn at home, to the gym, and even to the office. All tops are made in the USA with fabrics sourced from LA. Launching via e-commerce at the end of the month, check out the video and the fundraising the brand has embarked on at the Kickstarter page, almost near completion, to bring the brand to fruition (as an added perk, pledge $125 or more for a virtual styling session with Patrick!).

Fashion Pulse Flash of the Week

As part of the site’s new redesign, I will also be revamping some of the categories and features. The latest newness to FPD is the “Fashion Pulse Flash” feature, which includes tiny tidbits of info so that you can get the gist of the latest exciting fashion and beauty news and new product launches, along with what I have recently experienced and loved.

Bond no. 9 Central Park South

hits counters nationwide on April 15th, the latest addition to the New York-centric luxury perfume brand that boasts a fresh floral aroma including topnotes of grapefruit flower, blackcurrent buds and green ivy leaves, heart-notes of jasmine, ylang-ylang, jonquil, and honeyed lily of the valley and base notes of wood, sandalwood, and cedar bark.

This “P&G Most Loved” collection (Proctor & Gamble) arrived on my door step this week, and I do have to say that each item holds a rightful, necessary place in my health, beauty, and even fashion routine. It would be silly to leave hope without a Tide To Go Stain Eraser Pen in case of any spills to quickly lift the stain, razors, and extra razor blades is super duper importance for hair maintenance (Venus Embrace for me, Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power Razor for him); growing out my bangs and keeping my look in place requires a little spritz (Pantene Hairspray Flexible Hold); while I see signs of exhaustion and aging around my eyes, the Olay Regenerist Anti-Aging Eye Roller is MANDATORY; and last, COVERGIRL Outlast Double LipShine can leave me with a clear, dewy wet lip look, or add in a bit of opalescent color for up to 10 hours of wear!

Like a Boss

Well, I’d like to think so! Or “like a minion;” either way, there’s no harm in dressing like a boss, and a cool one at that. Last week The Wall Street Journal published the article “Elements of Boss Style,” that talks about the death of the power suit, and how women of all high positions should feel confident using bright color, prints, and bold accessories.

I totally agree that you can be both stylish and powerful, however I’d like to also believe that being chic and casual can work too. I’ve taken elements from this article, such as if you go statement with your jewelry, only do it with one piece, and created a “casual Friday” look, sans traditional jeans, that is still office and meeting-appropriate, yet comfy. A lightweight sweater, accented with a scarf and retro over-sized earrings, along with fitted black denim and a pop of color punch with bright loafers.
