The Show: Jill Stuart
The Theme: Aristocratic Brit
The Color Palette: Dark neutrals and a variety of reds and oranges
The Standout Look: Jill Stuart’s fall collection was delightfully filled with lighthearted, elegant cocktail dresses and pant/jacket combos that have both day and night potential. Each piece showed exquisite detail with laser cut wool, lace, and silks fabrics. While all of the dresses were incredibly unique and sophisticated, one that stuck out in particular was a long-sleeved, silk striped dress. The black stripes were masterfully pieced together to create an intricate and flattering design, while the peplum skirt and accentuated shoulders gave the frock an extra bit of flare. The dress is both feminine and polished, making it a perfect outfit for just about any outing.

The Jill Stuart Fall 2012 collection was feminine with a touch of vampire-esque sexiness. Contrasting ivory and black prints paired together playfully, only to be spiced up with patent leather platform clogs and a smoky eye. A flirty black dress with a full skirt got sexy with strategically placed cut-outs on top.
An LBD proved eccentric with cut-out flowers weaving their way across the body. One of our favorite looks, a plum leather shell with tailored burgundy trousers created a refined, ladylike look, but a black fur stole and vampy platforms added edgy sex appeal. The overall balance of sexy/vamp + feminine/flirty had us dying for more.

Jill Stuart achieves color-blocking in a remarkable way for her Fall 2011 collection. Stuart uses vibrant jewel tones, such as, teal, red, emerald, and amber, while combining a little sparkle in a pleated ensemble. A fairy tale came to life, as a literal animal theme decorated below-the-knee silk dresses with large printed owls and foxes. Complimenting the animal inspiration from Heidi Specker’s photos of the Black Forest in Germany, Stuart’s collection had “Bambi” deer furs, leather accents, and chunky knits that are perfect for the fall. Jill Stuart’s Fall 2011 collection is feminine, flirty, chic, and made for the fashion-forward woman.
