The Show: Blanc de Chine Fall 2013
The Theme: Traditional Chinese style, inspired by “Dunhuang,” an oasis in the Goci desert.
The Color Palette: Black, brown, burnt sienna, grey, navy, teal
About the Collection: Blanc de Chine this season included traditional silk and velvet Chinese designs that provided an ease of dressing via their light and airy movement. Most notable was strong graphic images of flowing and splashing water, touches of sequins were added in for an understated and glamorous element to the lineup.

The Show: La Perla Fall 2013 Collection
The Theme: A dreamlike modest sexy
The Inspiration: For the most recent La Perla collection, inspiration was drawn from Spain in the 1930s as well as from the film “Manolete,” the story about one of the most famous bullfighters, with a reputation as both a great lover and a fighter. The Black Label collection from the brand also has a collaborative inspiration: fashion design drawings from Elsa Schiaparelli and Surrealist artists Salvador Dalí and Joan Miró.
The Color Palette: Blush pink, hunter green, red, and black
The Signature, Standout Look: With Valentine’s Day only a few days away, it’s a shame that these pieces won’t be available sooner! Everything in this lingerie collection was exquisite, with a main focus on embroidery, embellishments, and rich color. Key pieces included: bras, panties, nightgowns, bodysuits, robes, and garters. The intricate lace patterns were seen throughout all the garments, giving all the pieces a classy, sexy feel. Part of this collection was the rebirth of the Black Label, which has been on pause for a few seasons now. The sheer mesh layering, the fur, and those killer heels were standouts; my personal favorite being a sheer mesh jumpsuit in the Black Label collection.

The Show: Erin Barr
The Theme: Ornamentation via zippers and drawstrings
The Color Palette: Neutrals, blue-green, forest green, mint, blue-violet and a grey and white.
The Signature, Standout Look: As each model walked down the runway, slits, deep V’s, zippers and drawstrings were strongly evident. Sheer layering of many of Barr’s tops and skirts was present, while overall, this collection is a perfect example of effortless chic with hard elements such as zippers and drawstrings, at times being in unconventional places such as the shoulders and the back of the leg, making the attention to detail to this collection truly impeccable.
