Here at FPD we are still in the whirlwind that is the Oscars and all with good reason. We have rounded some of the best hair and makeup looks from a night where beauty trumps all.
Stacy Keibler stole the spotlight at the Oscars with her gorgeous gown and impeccable makeup look. On many interview occasions, George Clooney stepped aside and let the cameras focus on his lovely girlfriend; who said chivalry is dead? Celebrity make-up artist, Matthew VanLeeuwen was inspired by the glamorous ’20s, and this look was one of our favorites because it is something anyone can achieve with the help of some Elizabeth Arden New York products! To create this look simply use: PREVAGE Anti-Aging + Intensive Repair Daily Serum, Flawless Finish Sponge-On Cream Makeup, and dust on Pure Finish Radiant Bronzing Powder. For the eyes use: Beautiful Colorr Eye Shadow in Bone all over the eye and then in the crease apply Shimmering Cooper and Sugar Cube. To complete the look, use Beautiful Color Smoky Eyes Pencil and Enhancing Mascara. And lastly, no look is complete without some lip color! Try the Ceramide Ultra Lipstick in Cameo.

I’ve always been a beauty product skeptic. Let me rephrase that—I’ve always been an expensive beauty product skeptic. Blame it on my stingy Swiss-German roots, or the granola-hippie environment in which I was raised, but I’ve always thought that the only difference between Cetaphil and L’Occitane was a fancy French name. This was the attitude I took with me to Lancôme’s launch of its newest skincare product, Génifique, at the Rockefeller Center last month, and it was pretty much the attitude I left with. However, I also walked out with a 1 Fl. Oz. bottle of Génifique, and that made all the difference. I tried using Génifique twice a day as recommended, and was absolutely shocked when it actually made good on its lofty promises. Lancôme says that Génifique reinvigorates the skin’s youth-protein producing cells, resulting in skin that is not just young looking, but youthful on a genetic level.
Now, I can’t confirm anything on a “genetic level”, but on the other hand, I can’t deny that the deep worry-wrinkle between my brows—forged from years of stress and general confusion—did completely disappear. Not only that, but it stayed away! Even after I stopped using the product religiously. Lancôme can officially claim me as their convert—which should prove great for my skin, but horrible for my bank account.
