Style from Steelers Nation

I’m from Pittsburgh, and in that town, we like the Steelers. I mean, we really like the Steelers. As in, it’s all people talk about. It’s all they care about.  And it’s pretty much their uniform. I’m really not kidding; people dress to the hilt in Steelers gear all the time; regardless of if it’s a game day or not, or where they are — fancy restaurants, an office job, scanning your boarding pass at the airport – everywhere (even dinosaurs in Pittsburgh get decked out)!

It is the norm and acceptable! It’s nice to have hometown and home team pride, and I can personally vouch for that, since I have a line of Pittsburgh-based t-shirts I design,  but I wanted to get something special for the upcoming Steelers vs. Jets AFC Championship game this Sunday.  I did some comparison shopping to find some cool Steelers gear that wouldn’t completely swallow tiny frame, that wouldn’t be overly girly (i.e. Steelers jerseys in bubblegum pink), and is reasonably priced (relatively speaking).  My favorite finds? Reebok Pittsburgh Steelers Ladies White Basic Slouch Hat, $15.95 There’s just something about a white hat…well that is, until it gets dirty, but still – love the look — it’s slightly different than the normal licensed gear, and again, straightforward design.

<Pittsburgh Steelers Ladies Black MVP Jersey Tote Bag, $39.95 I’ve seen a few ladies in the ‘burgh wearing these slung across the body, and I think they look way cooler in person and on-body.
Pittsburgh Steelers Black Quilted Tote Bag, $39.95 This bag is definitely more upscale than the former one, and more subtle in it’s messaging. You could definitely shove a few cans of beer in there for the tailgating before the game!

KE Specialties Pittsburgh Steelers Spa Set with Gift Bag, $44.99 When you see that products like this exist, I think it affirms how truly ga-ga people go over the Steelers.  I wonder if sweet Troy Polamalu uses the bath salts after a game? And do you think those nail polish colors are perfectly Pantone-matched to the actual Steelers colors? My guess would be yes…
