I have unfortunately found that once depleted, it’s very very difficult to get hair back to its former state of fullness, shine, hydration, and overall luster, but having amazing products at your disposal will begin your journey to reaching your hair goals. I’ve recently been enjoying the hair care offerings from RAHUA by Amazon Beauty (pronounced ra-wa), a line that utilizes centuries-old beauty secrets and ingredients, created with sustainable methods that are gentle on the places of which they are sourced (largely the Amazon rainforest).
The organic, natural, plant and flower based oils found in the line’s shampoos, conditioners, oil, hair mask, elixir, leave-in treatment, texturizer, dry shampoo, voluminous, salt, and hair sprays are vegan, non-toxic and free of parabens and sulfates. The star of the collection is most definitely the Rahua Amazon Oil, the ingredient and brand namesake that inspired company founder Fabian Lliguin to start the line. He first encountered rahua oil (derived from the ungurahua nut) during his time in the Amazon rainforest, gifted to him by the native women who had been using it on their hair and bodies. It works wonders on dehydrated, frizzy, and overall damaged hair, while all of the products are also concentrated, which means a little goes a long way (of note: start with the tiniest amount to start and build up from there). In addition, I love that the conditioner can be used traditionally, as a co-wash (conditioner-only washing to maintain moisture and softness), or used post-shower as a styling product.
