Show: Chloè Spring/Summer 2013
Theme: 60th Anniversary Celebration
Color Palette: Black, white, and neutrals
Best/Collection’s Signature Standout Look: Chloè’s 60th anniversary collection was sleek and well tailored, but also featured oversized pieces in obscure shapes. The repeated black and white trend throughout the collection was perfect for honoring the commemorative anniversary. One of the standout looks was found in an optic white shirt with frills along the neckline worn over a netted white skirt and gold sandals. The aesthetic resounded as well structured with a girly twist.
Show: Giambattista Valli Spring/Summer 2013
Theme: Textured and Seductive
Color Palette: Red, navy, gold and neutrals
Best/Collection’s Signature Standout Look: Giambattista Valli turned timeless, formal pieces into seductive and feminine outfits. He added mesh and metallic accents to well-structured jackets, pants, and skirts. One major highlight was a stiff pea coat in a bright red worn over a sheer white dress. The mix of a tailored jacket and a provocative dress screamed ‘daring’ but also not surprising as the next phase of fashion.
Show: Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2013
Theme: Upbeat Mod
Color Palette: Vibrant white, orange, and Kelly Green with neutrals
Best/Collection’s Signature Standout Look: Similar to Giambattista Valli and Chloè, Stella McCartney incorporated both feminine dresses and oversized suits into her SS 2103 collection. However, she took a more cheerful approach using vibrant colors in artfully layered, light fabrics. One of the standout looks was a tailored, low-belted dress in a clean, refreshing hue of Kelly green. The wide sleeves and robe-like slit were simplistic, yet highly innovative.
