Fall 2012 Fashion Week: Peter Pilotto
We went deep sea diving with Peter Pilotto’s scuba diving-inspired Fall 2012 RTW collection, as the colors were a true inspiration consisting of beautiful sea greens, yellows, and blues. Such colors complemented the mix of various prints in a cool, fun way and sexy cutouts were an essential part of classic and feminine silhouettes. With rich colors, came luxe textiles in velvet and fur, layer upon layer. In addition to the aesthetic appeal, flirty peplums and intricate embellishments added a warmer feel to such assertive prints. Go ahead and wear Peter Pilotto’s collection with the confidence that you already possess!

AlexBlake.com Will Satisfy Your Every Hosiery Need
Hosiery can be practical, whimsical, multi-tasking, or warm; depending on your style or needs and the time of year, your demand for the item will certainly vary. AlexBlake.com, the U.S. sister sister of the European MyTights.com has an extensive array of selections (for example, the company supplied the info to us that there are currently 568 hosiery products on sale!!) to satisfy your every want and need when it comes to leg coverage, including categories such as extra tall, plus size, maternity, support, and bridal hosiery.
The site mixes in hard to find European favorites like Pretty Polly (my new favorite!), Jonathan Aston, Emilio Cavallini (another one of my faves!), Trasparenze with tried and true favorites such as Hue, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, and Hanes. Courtesy of the site, I tried the Pretty Polly tights and House of Holland tights, which I had only read about and had searched for in the past, without any luck of actually making a purchase. The tights were all that I had built them up to be in my mind, provoking gushing and comments from everyone who noticed them thanks to their eyecatching inlaid designs as well as 3-D detailing like affixed sequins and bows!
Not sure what to get? Check out AlexBlake’s advice pages or take advantage of the personal advice option by phone or email. While the weather is still cold and blustery, you might as well stock up on some tights!

Sneak Peek: Marni for H&M
The Marni collection at H&M, beyond being highly anticipated, will take on a distinct personality. Consuelo Castiglioni desired to create a “playful range of style possibilities” with prints that pop, innovative sportiness, and an energetic sophistication that recurs throughout. You can expect the signature juxtaposition of shapes in loose dresses, shirts and tops, slender skirts, and well-constructed knits.
Relaxed ensembles crafted of parkas and zip ups have an unexpected sophistication when paired with long Bermuda shorts ($49.95) and suit pants. The patent leather zip up tops ($149) will redefine the basics, as will the silk front cardigans boasting a knitted back. We love the lilac gold brocade against an otherwise practical color palette: black, navy, olive green, khaki, rust and orange. What’s more, there are plenty of abstract patterns that manage to go with everything. Accessories are bold, eclectic and sculptural. Sequined shirt collars ($19.95) as necklaces, resin bracelets meant to be stacked, quirky straw hats and more! We challenge you to blindly grab two pieces and make your perfect Marni combination. In essence, this will define the compilation.
Get ready to explore this ingenious collection for spring, every fashion visionary’s dream. The collection will be available from March 8th, in about 260 stores worldwide, as well as on-line!
