Catherine Malandrino for DesigNation, available at Kohl’s, launched today! You can shop the collection online, or in-stores, with plenty of pieces and size ranges still available. Catherine Malandrino, known for modern, New York meets Paris-inspired designs complete with form fitting shapes, intricate knits, flounce hems, and sleek silhouettes has lent her signature style to Kohl’s for a limited time. I have never received as many compliments as when I wear my Catherine Malandrino dresses, so you better believe I planned to try a few of the styles out!
Courtesy of the brand, I had a blast in the Catherine Malandrino for DesigNation oversized striped cardigan $88, which is totally on-trend for fall/winter 2013, AND spring/summer 2014, with its bold mixing of black and white. My rule of thumb with pairing stripes, polka dots, or any busy pattern is to try to limit the colors in your look to three, max four, for a balanced aesthetic. I paired the stripes with a bit of plaid, and red jeans as the color pop option; I’ve always felt strongly that black, white, and red are shades that always look amazing together.
What pieces are you going to pick up from Catherine Malandrino for DesigNation at Kohl’s?
Stay tuned for my guide on how to shop designer collaborations, which may come in handy!

Paint a Scent by
See By Chloé presents a miniature limited edition of its signature perfume (
which includes notes of sandalwood, vanilla, bergamot, apple blossom and jasmine), but with a fun new twist on the application of it. Instead of a traditional spray bottle, the perfume comes with a brush that allows one to apply the clear perfume gel

With this new compact and easy to use design, you’ll be able to take your perfume with you wherever you go and keep your scent fresh all day long with the simple stroke of a brush. The fall season, from a fashion perspective, can be both exciting and challenging; most people feel like ready for something new and stylish to spice up their wardrobes, while you don’t want to break the bank, and layers are must since the temperature can drastically fluctuate .
Accessories are the easiest way to refresh your look in a quick and versatile manner, from footwear to handbags and jewelry. For work every day this week, I took an existing piece from my wardrobe, and punched it up a notch with some great new fall 2013 items from mark. Not only are these pieces on trend for the season, but also incredibly affordable!
See below for what I wore:

Day 1: Nicholas K. silk top paired with mark. Style Goddess Necklace, $50

The Show: Fendi
The Theme: It’s Technologically Correct
The Color Palette: Red,white, orange, blue, white, pink, orange and black
The Collection’s Signature, Standout Look: We are living in an age where technology is involved in absolutely everything, so it was only a matter of time until its influences started showing up in our clothes as well. Using laser cut technology, many of the sheer pieces featured a motif of falling flowers as well as geometric patterns cut into sharp corners on jackets, dresses, and skirts. These precisely cut pieces recalled grid patterns found in the digital world reinforcing the stated technological theme. Fendi’s signature fur showed up in the accessories adorning silver purses with bundles of multi-colored fuzzy options, showing that amidst all this change and technological innovation, there are some things, like a well-crafted fur, that can never be digitally replaced.

The Show: Emporio Armani
The Theme: Ice for Spring
The Color Palette: Silver, blue, green, black, white, and pink
The Collection’s Signature, Standout Look: Icy pastels and florals appeared in every concoction imaginable, from wide leg pants to floaty cocktail dresses paired with iridescent silver tights, creating a show that exuded softness and femininity. One glittering mid-length dress floated in layers of chiffon stitched with silver flower petals created a sophisticated aesthetic, but still retains a youthful, albeit put-together, spirit.
