There aren’t many styles of footwear that can boast being consistently popular since 1982, and the classic Vans Slip-Ons is one of those anomalies. Furthermore, the style has broad-reaching, unisex appeal, and has remained affordable over the year, which certainly adds to the allure and collection of the classic style.
For fall 2014, shop a variety of new prints and fabrications, which include the iconic checkerboard print in new colors, alongside some chevron, metallic polka dot, feathered, and animal print varieties. Each pair retails for $45-$60, available at Vans stores, specialty retailers, and online at Vans.com.

Another season is upon us! This September 4th-11th, New York Fashion Week will take us on a journey with expected new trends in color, silhouette, and styling. I’m excited to cover the shows, which will now be my 22nd time doing so! This season, I’m going to do things a bit differently, and in a way that you will hopefully find more enjoyable. I’m shifting a great majority of the coverage to our social media channels, so please follow along on Twitter at @fashionpulse and @fashionpulseday , Instagram @FashionPulseDaily, the Pinterest board dedicated to NYFW , Facebook (Fashion Pulse), and who knows, maybe something will pop up on the YouTube channel too! I will have plenty of help with contributors covering the shows, and also putting out what they see and experience through our social channels. Generally follow along the happenings with the hashtags #NYFW and #MBFW.
See the video above, also duplicated in the sidebar (directly above the Instagram pics) for the live stream from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week courtesy of Rightster! You can watch the shows as they happen, or catch up on shows that you missed from earlier in the day or week.
On FashionPulseDaily.com, there will be some occasional show reviews, however as I’m taking the blog in a more accessories-driven direction, the fashion week coverage will also veer in that direction. Expect another edition of “The Feet of Fashion Week,” along with fashion and beauty trend reports breaking down what is important to look for and try come spring 2015, as well as some personal style posts regarding what I’m wearing (hint: be prepared to see pieces rom Marimekko, Sorrelli, T.J.Maxx, ShoeDazzle, Keds x Kate Spade New York, Shopbop.com and more!).
Thanks for tuning in for another year of fabulous fashion!

Around the end of July, I stretched my arm as far back as it would go into the depths of my closet, and pulled out a few pieces that were quietly biding their time, waiting patiently to be worn. In all honesty, somehow it had eclipsed my mind that they were there, which probably means I have too many items…
