The Show: Tracy Reese
The Theme: Afro-Cuban Influence
The Colors: Black and White, Scarlet, Lapis, Sugar Pink, Sea Green, Yellow
The Collection’s Best Look: To the beats of a three piece Cuban band, Tracy Reese sent a flurry of color, energy, and sensuality down the runway for spring. Like a painted scene straight from 1950’s Cuba, beautiful women drenched in bold hues, wearing crop tops and flared midi-skirts, cropped trousers, and ultra-feminine dresses danced down the catwalk. The patterns, prints, and shapes that Reese has always been known for were obviously present, along with a strong side dish of Afro-Cuban inspiration.
The Theme: The New World Rock N’ Roll Chic
The Color Palette: Black and White, with hints of edge in metallic
The Collection’s Best Look: LA-Based rockers Mark and Estel took to the runway with both their rocker chic designs as well as a signature soundtrack that they recorded themselves specifically for the runway show . Featuring contrasting colors of black and white, sharp lines and nontraditional fabrics for the spring season, this collection walks the line of an ideal urban dream, somewhere between fantasy and reality. In your dreams might be the only place where you would find a macramé skeleton gown come to life on the runway, right?
