We love nails! We love nails! It’s so exciting to discover eyecatching digits created in custom colors and innovative techniques. Come along and enjoy the fall 2013 nail looks with us:
At Helmut Lang, Gina Edwards for essie made a bumped up neutral, matte nail to create a ‘color but no color’ look by using essie’s First Base Base Coat, two layers of Sand Tropez , paired with the matte about you matte top coat to finish off the sleek, chic vibe.
It’s time to bring out those ultra girly hues at Diane von Furstenberg, as Michelle Saunders for essie went for a super clean look to compliment the David Bowie and animal print-inspired collection by keeping the mani clean with just the first base base coat and essie’s apricot cuticle oil(one of my favorites!) while the little toesies got two colors layered on them — base coat + plumberry + miami nice and good to go top coat.
Mara Hoffman…is awesome! And Honey for Maybelline created a great nail look that has a moon shape at the tip of the nail, using Maybelline’s Onyx Rush and Audacious Asphalt hues.
Carolina Herrera had the prettiest of soft pinks, as Gina Edwards for essie went with lady like, only after applying a base coat and following up with good to go topcoat.
“Naeem Khan knew exactly what he wanted for the nails– a devil red,” explained Michelle Saunders for essie. With the tinge being more black than red, Saunders layered licorice with Bordeaux to get the deep deep hue, richer than an oxblood color.
Of course nails had to be over the top but completely playful at Betsey Johnson; Michelle Class, the nail tech for Morgan Taylor created several nail looks by the professional nail laqcuer brand (launching in June!) with the artificial nails reading “BJKA” (Betsey Johnson kicks ass) in the shades of Little Black Dress with All White as the written hue to really pop on the runway.
