The Show: Gregory Parkinson Fall 2013
The Theme: Beachy and light pieces for fall
The Color Palette: Black, purple, and orange
The Collection’s Signature Standout Look: L.A. based designer Gregory Parkinson is known for his airy and colorful pieces that are usually meant to be worn in a sunny locale. For his latest ready to wear collection, he kept that same aesthetic in mind but extended it for fall. The lineup included cardigans over cropped tops of black lace paired with voluminous but lightweight tiered skirts. While at first glance many of the pieces appear to be black, Parkinson actually custom-dyed each piece to create depth to the clothes. Several of the skirts were embroidered in jewel tones of purple or green and one outfit featured a camisole and tie-dye skirt with a pop of orange to showcase Parkinson’s interpretation of autumnal colors. While these clothes may not keep northern girls warm for winter, they definitely will help to remind them of summer days gone by, or temporarily relocate for some fun in the sun.
