Backstage Beauty at Osklen
Makeup: Makeup artist Fabiana Gomes for MAC Cosmetics focused on creating a healthy, sunkissed look for the girls, as if they had just come from the beach. A lip color named New Groove from MAC’s spring collection was used to create subtly shining bronze eyelids, while skin was lightly dusted with a transparent primer powder. For the lips, Gomes applied a peach lipstick called In the Mode, using her fingertips to create a glowing look that worked nicely with the collection’s rich jewel tones.
Hair: Under the guiding hands of Antoinette Beenders for AVEDA, models donned a sleek, low ponytail with a twist. To get this slick and simple look, start by creating a side part going to the right then separate hair into four sections. Gather the back two sections into a ponytail at the nape of the neck. Take remaining two front sections and crisscross them over the ponytail tying them underneath. Secure knot with bobby pins and spray hair with hairspray to ensure hair lies flat.
The Show:
The Show: OsklenThe Theme: Gemstones
The Color Palette: White, Red, Yellow, Green, Blue and Black
The Collection’s Signature, Standout Look: The geometry and the glimmer of gemstones provided the starting point for Oskar Metsavaht’s Osklen spring show. Dresses, tunics, and pants were presented with sharp angles and bright, solid colors, providing a collection of simple but bold pieces to build upon. One particularly eye catching ensemble was comprised of a ruby red tunic paired over slim red pants that were complemented with gemstone-shaped eyewear in a matching shade. Each piece was sharp and cut to perfection, just the way you would want a precious stone to be.
