I do love the aptly titled song by Gossip, which I find to be motivational and uplifting, and thus, inspired this post on a blustery fall day. I’ve been thinking about my life lately, and there are a lot of unknowns, a lot of things up in the air right now, but all I can really do for myself and my loved ones is just “move in the right direction.” So thinking about what brings me joy, and is good for my mental and physical well being is a start. Another one, which is a BIG challenge, is to deter my hoarding tendencies when it comes to fashion and beauty products, and slim it down to just the items that I absolutely love.
That means that I bring in and keep what I truly love and feel are uniquely “me,” and gift the rest to my friends, family, and those in need. Especially around the holidays, there are so many people out there that would be so appreciative for a fraction of what most of us have. It’s good to keep this in mind, as it certainly is a great incentive to donate or give away things that you have that would bring joy to others.
Circling back to personal style and this post, I’m wearing mainly a handful pieces that I’ve had for quite some time, coupled with a few newer ones that I absolutely adore. Hopefully keeping less, but pieces that mean more to me is a great impetus from a sartorial standpoint, as well as a general life mantra.
