LensCrafters made me very very happy recently. Not only did I get a gorgeous pair of prescription lens frames, but it was guranteed that I was getting an incredibly customized, precise product in a matter of minutes! It’s been a while since I’ve set foot in a store, except for the occasional perusal of new frames or eyeglass tightening, but now realize how much I was missing out, thanks to the new technology the store has set in place. With myLook (see pic above an slideshow), a quick digital camera takes images of up to four frames that I’m considering, then creates an image collage so that I can view them all in one fell swoop, instead of taking off and putting them on my mug multiple times to try to make this painstaking decision of which pair to choose.
Once I’ve made my decision, the AccuFit Digital Measurement System uses a device that has fit sensor in it to gauge all of my needed eye specifics, such as pupiliary distance; this contraption gets your measurements right, down to the millimeter. Once the optician has taken all of the needed info down, you choose your lens type, and off to the lab your frames, data, and script go! If you’ve lost or broken your glasses, this can come in quite handy, as you can have glasses ready for you in as little as an hour time.
I ended up with this purple/maroonish slightly cat-eyed pair of Vogue Eyewear, (see slideshow), which I absolutely adore. I can’t wait to wear them during New York Fashion Week, as I know they will merge well with my fashionable accoutrement!
Have I got you itching to get a new, stylish pair of frames? I hope so! If you’d like to get a head start while sitting at your desk right now, you can find your look online and play with likes, dislikes, and what is just plain flattering on you.
