If you’ve ever had a skin reaction, particularly on your face, you’re most likely skeptical to try new brands or products that may be iffy when it comes to the ingredients and results. After recently suffering a bad reaction and it unfortunately occurring during Fashion Week, I’ve scaled way way back on the skincare that I feel comfortable testing. Being more discerning in pre-screening products prior to letting them touch my face, I’ve discovered that all that Nudu Beauty stands for is exactly what I’ve been looking for in a skincare philosophy to safely nourish, protect, cleanse, and enhance.
Nudu was founded by Dr Liana Ashenden, who was on the hunt for non-toxic beauty products that actually worked, taking matters into her own hands and carefully created a lineup of products free of toxic chemicals, irritants or known endocrine disruptors. Free of parabens, phthalates, benzyl alcohol, formaldehydes and formaldehyde-releasers, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), Nudu includes just a minimal amount of preservative to prevent the growth of bacteria or mold in its carefully sealed containers to cut down on contamination. What it does include are botanical actives, antioxidants, and plant oils to provide benefits that range from anti-aging and repair to increased elasticity, softness, and tone.
The trick is to purify, balance and glow, and the tight lineup of seven products do just that, highlighting ingredients such as coconut sugar, lemon balm, horse chestnut, pineapple, hyaluronic acid, seasme protein, and cucumber. My favorites include the Cream Cleanser, good for all skin types, while the Ultra-Rich Moisturizer and the Eye Cream are great for anti-aging and mature skin. The prices of each product are encouraging, ranging from $15-$65, available at Nudu.com.
