Try not to let your jaws hit the floor when I tell you this, but I have been without cable TV, in fact, I don’t even watch TV at all, and this has been the case for years. I mean, save the occasional hotel room stay or visit to my parents house where they literally have 600 channels, most of the time I’m a little out of touch, to say the least, with TV-related pop culture.

The point of all of this personal information? Last Thursday I attended the much anticipated Season 9 premiere of “Project Runway” on Lifetime via a Style Coalition shindig sponsored by HP, and was excited to not only check out the show, but also to test out, first hand the latest in HP technology. That means
computer touch screens! We did a sketching contest on them, which was waaaay cool, and also got to learn about some of the tie-ins with “Project Runway”.
Here’s a quick rundown of how the designer contestants make it work with HP:
– designers use the latest HP EliteBook Tablet PC notebooks on the market powered with second-generation Intel® Core i7™ processors to create designs all season long.
-HP TouchSmart desktop PCs, HP video cameras and HP Veer will be used to enable designers to reach out to friends and family along with complete challenges.
-The winning designer of this season will get a $50,000 prize package from HP and Intel to create his/her own vision.
Learn more about how cool and techy HP is via their Facebook and Twitter accounts, catch Season 9 episode 2 tonight, and of course, check out designer bios and behind-the-scenes info at Lifetime. By the way, I totally called it that Rafael was going to be ousted ASAP, and am rooting for Bert (Team Bert!!). I am thinking Julie is next….what do you think? Oh and by the way, feel free to tweet at me with updates, since you now know my, um, cable situation.
[Jump for joy: Julia is watching cable TV!]
