At FPD we talk a lot about the latest trends, great items to buy, where to wear them to and how to style them, but often the concept of clothing care and maintenance is overlooked. The frequency and settings that you use to wash and the detergents you use will effect the performance and longevity of your garments, not to mention can cause skin reactions due to harsh chemicals from the cleaning process.I personally use the most gentle detergents I can find, and no Bounce sheets in the dryer, so I was glad to test out the Vaska line of Herbatergents for review, which include botanical cleaning agents and depending on the item, no dyes or fragrances.
I stupidly wiped my mascara off my face and onto an all-white tee, and used the Vaska OxygenBleach, a natural, chlorine-free bleach, to remove the stains in the sink to lift the stains. It was just as effective as any other jug of bleach I’ve tried! The Vaska Herbasoft is a liquid fabric softener that uses real herbs and advanced botanicals to soften textiles naturally, without leaving behind waxes or harmful chemicals that damage fabrics and or irritate skin. Who doesn’t like the smell of lavender? I for one, am totally down with my garments smelling like the relaxing fragrance, and the Herbatergent uses plant-based surfactants, vegetable conditioner, and lavender extract to get the job done!
What do you think- would you try Vaska at home?
Vaska is available in New York City at Duane Reade, Target Stores nationwide, or online at Vaska for $6.99- $9.99.
