I’m a bit of a NARS lip product fiend, so I’m extra excited for the arrival of its Velvet Lip Glide for Fall 2016.
The collection highlights a new formula that emphasizes softness and ease of wear through its Oil Infusion Complex, found in 13 stunning shades. This particular product walks the line between the precision of a lip gloss with the finish of a lipstick; what more would you want?
Velvet Lip Glide will become available for $26 each September 6th and 7th exclusively on Sephora.com for the VIB & VIB Rouge Preview (check your Beauty Insider status at Sephora to see if you qualify), at NARS boutiques & NARSCosmetics.com September 15th, and October 1st at Sephora, department, and specialty stores.
Elizabeth and James (a brand from designers Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen) just rolled out two new scents, Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rose, and Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon that are as distinctive and individual as those who wear them. Following up on the brand’s incredible success with Nirvana Black and Nirvana White (my personal favorite), the duo said that the impetus for these fragrances are because, “Ashley and I believe everyone’s nirvana is different, so we created Nirvana Rose and Nirvana Bourbon to explore a more sensual and also playful side of Nirvana,” shares Mary-Kate Olsen. Indeed, the sophisticated, sleek bottle design features gold accents, a slither of texture, and scarlet and amber hues address each respective scent. The Nirvana Rose is a rich floral fragrance, and addresses dark rose, geranium, rose de mai and vetiver, while Nirvana Bourbon caters to an oriental scent with vanilla bourbon, oakwood, and tuberose.
Currently available in three different sizes, the rollerball ($25), 30 ml ($65), and 50 ml ($85), both fragrances launched exclusively at all North America SEPHORA stores and Sephora.com this month, and will be found in other retailers for the Spring of 2017.
This week, my 13-year-old cousins asked for makeup brush brands suggestions. Upon placing my recommendations, I quickly added that it is SUPER important to clean your brushes often, and if you don’t you will surely get PIMPLES, a teenager’s worst nightmare. It is true that a good cleansing regimen cuts back on bacteria that can make the bristles their home, and it reminded me how much I like Real Techniques BrushCleansing Gel ($8.99) coupled with its Brush Cleansing Palette ($14.99) to get the job done. The Deep Cleansing Gel has a pleasant, light fragrance to it, and a little lasts a long way as you rub it in and rinse it off of the bristles. The Cleansing Palette makes the process a breeze, as you can move the brush back and forth against the raised surfaces of the palette, getting a deeper, better clean. The easier cleaning your makeup brushes become, the higher the chance of actually taking the time to do it!
