Happy Friday! Glorious, isn’t it? It certainly feels like summer around here, although I will be heading back to school next week, as the teacher, not the pupil, at LIM College. I will be teaching a week-intensive Fashion Blogging Boot Camp course, which means I may be a little light on the posting. This is an exciting new adventure for me, and I hope you don’t mind me momentarily diverting my attention to the classroom. Stop back every day, as I’m planning to still write a post for every day!
I use a lot of Elizabeth Arden products, from makeup to skin care, so I was thrilled to attend the launch of a new, exciting trio of products from the Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide Collection, which feels like it was specially created for…me! The serum, eye gel, and cream with SPF 30 know that besides genetics, you can be effected by the signs of aging thanks to stress, so instead of throwing in the towel and exclaiming, “Woe is me, there is no hope, I tell you!”, pause for a moment and take relief in knowing that it appears Elizabeth Arden has thought of everything, with the possibility of seeing an improvement in skin radiance in a week, and brightness and texture in six weeks.
With a focus on millenials, this line targets those who may be beginning to see the early signs of wrinkles, hence, women (or men) in their mid-twenties to 40 years of age. It’s great to have a product line that addresses what I and my peers are going through right now, making the process more approachable and applicable.
I tested all of the products, and have to declare the caplet serum as my favorite for its incredible texture and cool design that breaks up the concentrated micro-caplets when pumped. Priced from $40-$60 each, the Elizabeth Arden Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide Collection is available now at ElizabethArden.com and at fine retailers that carry the brand nationwide, such as Macy’s.
Lands’ End Holiday collection is a pretty easy way to check out the people on your gift list with one fell swoop. Pictured are some of the personalized gift options available, which span from stockings, blankets, totes, and beanies to even something for the pup. I was also smitten with gorgeous, super soft cashmere crewneck sweaters and hats, packable, roll-able down jackets, washable winter coats with removable faux fur, and the most adorable looks for little boys and girls. Plus, it’s ALL at great prices so now all you’ll have to do is wait until it’s available; sorry for the suspense!
Le Couvent des Minimes has clearly become a new favorite brand of mine (see previous post, here), in which I feel affable toward it as it has a similar approach to long-established Italian brand Santa Maria Novella in its packaging and ingredient mission, not to mention both have monastic ties. Le Couvent des Minimes (or just Minimes, as the hubby and I refer to it as) is actually preferred, as its affordable, offers free shipping through its website, and is easily located at the Duane Read LOOK Boutiques throughout the city.
I’m really loving the Beneficial Body Lotion ($22), which has a lovely unisex aroma of blood orange coupled with the slightest tinge of rosemary in a fast absorbing and effective formula, however what’s really got me won over is the Complete Moisturizing Cream (pictured above; $33). It combines four different kinds of roses for the ultimate in hydration and radiance, and although it quickly blends into the skin, it still gives a soft dewy glow that lasts for hours. There’s something familiar and old-worldly about it, and I can picture my grandmother, or women centuries ago applying a similar concoction to their skin. The retro, quality packaging fully transports one to a time when applying such creams were a luxury experience, a daily rite, and important ritual.
As lovely as the warm weather can be…it can also wreak havoc on your skin, thanks to the sun exposure, perspiration, and clogged pores as a result of layering on the sunscreen. Dial has a trio of products poised to come to the rescue in the form of a the Dial Acne Control Face Wash, Body Wash, and Deep Cleaning Glycerin Body & Face Bar. Target the areas that need the most TLC and clearing power, as let’s face it, in the warmer months, bacne can be an issue.
The line promises clear skin in just three days, with 2% of salicylic acid found in each product. After testing the products, I’d recommend them to balance your skin and keep your pores open; if you are having more severe acne issues, consult a dermatologist and always execute good practices such as showering after a workout, staying away from food that may be triggers for break outs, and overall, don’t pick don’t pick don’t pick at them! Find the Dial Acne Control line at mass food, drug, and beauty retailers near you, at a price of $5.49-$6.49 each.
