Starting up north with the chillier lifestyle and working its way down to the cloudless, sunlit beaches, Club Monaco used the “California Coast” as its main inspiration for Spring 2012.
The January collection highlights layering as the pieces you buy and wear now will transition seamlessly into spring. Northern California is displayed in the natural color palette of “warm rock grays, fresh spring taupes and wood browns.” The quilting certainly adds a sporty feel, executed in pale colors for vests and jackets. The feather weight mohair textured sweaters are simply stunning, ideal to be paired with a pencil skirt.
For February, find yourself lost in an industrial, yet nautical scene as you continue to head down the coastline. Breton striped skirts are rustic-feminine, while flared pants are paired with sleeveless moto jackets/.
Once March has arrived, you’ll land in SoCal amongst the boho-vintage crowd. Silk and gauzy cotton make the perfect peasant tunics and maxi skirts, but it’s the lace shirts and skirts that add true embellishment. Mixing hard with soft appears effortless with braided leather accessories and gold beaded jewelry.
