The Theme: Desert Storm
The Color Palette: beige, cream, white, ochre
Best/Collection’s Signature Standout Look: While fun, styled accessories came into play (oversized oval glasses, beanie hats, head scraves, arm warmers, and men’s shoes by Vintage Shoe Company), we loved the effortless, chic layering and casual meets luxe hoodies that appeared in silken, parachute-like mixed materials. A favorite piece was certainly a cutaway trench coat that added a practical yet glam element to the collection.

[Leather Lunar Dress in White Lambskin Leather]
[Moon Suit in Star & Moon Print]
Clean lines and geometric shapes make up the artistry of the phenom that is Lisa Perry. For the passionate designer, mixing the worlds of fashion and art is not a surprise, but incorporating the unfamiliar worlds of Jupiter and Mars make for quite the playful wow factor.
[Pod coat]
Think cobalt blue, apple green, bubblegum pink, orange and white in mini sheath dresses and a standout drawstring jumper. More mod, minimal “half-moon” dresses and lambskin leather “peek-a-boo” dresses held their own against Perry’s first ever print: the galaxy star and moon print. However, I’m still thinking about that cobalt pongee pod coat (above).
Models moved effortlessly in the iconic clothing that felt both vintage and fresh, thanks to each dress having pockets — “Always!” as the designer told me — and pops of sequins. If this is what awaits in space, sign me up for NASA.

Calypso St. Barth
These breezy fabrics and flowing designs will have everyone itching to escape on an island getaway. Influenced by the vibrant colors and patterns of Marrakesh, Calypso St. Barth takes their famously beachy style to an exotic extreme. The incorporation of rosy coral, desert orange, and palm green give the collection a sense of excitement and adventure, while the hamman white, icy silver and navy compliments make the looks chic and classic.

Tracy Reese
Inspired by the landscapes of artist David Hockney, Reese’s Spring 2013 collection features a variety of natural hues, including foliage-inspired greens, cool blues, lilacs, and tangerines. These rich colors are paired with neutrals creating a powerful contrast. The juxtaposition continues as Reese couples soft fabrics with structured pieces. The organic colors and laid-back fabrics create an easy-going vibe, while the structured design and bold accessories make the look sophisticated and edgy.
Pamella Roland
The harsh geometric shapes and bold colors of Ellsworth Kelly’s iconic works are reflected perfectly in Pamella Roland’s Spring 2013 collection. The sharp lines and angles give the pieces an exciting energy that is contrasted with the effortlessness of the long, flowing skirts.

Rebecca Taylor
As if we weren’t nostalgic for summer already, Rebecca Taylor’s spring line has us wishing we re-located to Hawaii, and are currently soaking in the sun. Bleached denim and frangipani prints make this collection perfect for relaxed sunset gatherings and cocktails on the beach.
