The Show: Moncler Grenoble Fall 2013
The Theme: A pulsing human forest that could not be defined as a presentation or a show, but rather a performance. We were ushered into a ballroom at Gotham Hall where spotlights flashed in every direction, thumping, yet mystical music played, and models stood, military stiff, in rows all around us. There must’ve been 400 of them, and if you looked up at the mirrored ceiling, there might as well have been 400 more.
The Color Palette: Just about every shade of green you can imagine, from olive to hunter, with complimenting beige tones, and bits of black
Best/Collection’s Signature Standout Look: Emerald, the Pantone color of the year, made its way onto puffers, beanies, and the occasional arm warmer, but it was the use of tactile fabrics that made for such eye-catching coats. Down jackets were stitched in diamond and intricate geometric patterns, and fleeces were strapped with black belts. Fur scarves, shoulder details, and hoods bestow the collection with its signature luxuriousness. Oh, and, you might want to invest in a ski mask the size of half your face, because they’re in, for fall.

The Show: Gilded Age Men’s Presntation
The Theme: Rebellious and Youthful
The Inspiration: Many pieces of this collection were drawn from the depiction of the “future” from movies and books of the 70s and 80s.
The Signature, Standout Look: All the garments of the collection were layered, with just the right amount of oversize, to give it an urban and subversive feel. The collection was definitely vintage; reminiscent of the memorable days of the 80s, however Gilded Age put a spin on new wave and grunge by incorporating variousretro textures, fabrics, and colors into the looks. Denim is by far the standout piece of the collection, where we will see denim in various hues such as anthracite, deep burgundy, and jade.

Through my eyes and the camera lens, I’m bringing what I see, and love, to you! There’s so much happening and a myriad of information and visuals being dispersed during the week, that I’d love to give more of a personal perspective on the experience of covering shows and seeing the latest looks and soon-to-be trends.

Pictured here, and above are pieces from the Ben-Amun Foiled Bold and Crystal Collection and Crystal Chevron Collection, with pieces that were just statement and stunning, through and through.

From Made in NY –the Dana-Maxx Fall/Winter 2013 Collection, featuring rich jersey fabrics and fabulous color blocking, complimented by Ben-Amun jewelry.

Featured above is the wall of Garnier products at the brand’s Blow Out Bar at Time Warner Center, with many new products on display. I can’t wait to try the Dry Shampoo, volume, and Recharge line products! There were also some cool men’s styling gels for specific styles (see pics above).

The blizzard cometh! Trying to stay chic and dry in my Sorel Joan of Artic boots!

The Show: CZAR by Cesar Galindo
The Theme: Highly polished luxury
The Color Palette: Chartreuse, pale blue, opaque black, vibrant red
The Signature, Standout Look: The show opened with soft cornflower blue coat, shown over a body conscious jersey dress. Classic CZAR, this collection mixed impeccable tailoring with luxurious knitwear. The 41-look curated show had something for day and night, with a fluid jersey jumpsuit being a standout look.
