Take your pedicure up a few notches, four to be exact, with the new BareLuxury from Morgan Taylor, a 4-step system that cleanses, detoxes, refines and brightens feet (or you can also use it on your hands). The four steps are found in one handy package, including a purifying mineral soak, a mask, a scrub, and massage butter for a luxurious and rejuvenating experience that you can do from the comfort of your own home. This lovely aromatic service comes in choices of Lavender & Sage (for calming), Seaberry & Kukui (for renewing; my personal favorite), Orange & Lemongrass (for energizing), and Ginger & Green Tea (for detoxing). Having a few packets on hand is always a good idea, and can quickly lead to a stay-at-home pamper and movie night; now THAT sounds delightful!
BareLuxury from Morgan Taylor retails for about $7 per packet, at fine salons nationwide, MorganTaylorLacquer.com, and LoxaBeauty.com.

I’m so fired up for the summer, but need to remember to treat my tresses right. When you dye your hair, sun exposure can certainly cause it to fade, and if you are anything like me (lazy when it comes to root touch-ups), you’ll want to do your best to maintain your color at its status quo. Alternatively, if you don’t have colored hair, you can still utilize these tips to play with a bit of color, or overall hydrate and maintain ultimate hair health.
Switch up your color with a semi or demi-permanent shade
My lovely colorist James Corbett softened my red for the summer by migrating it from a more vibrant shade of Natural Instincts 16 Light Auburn to the lighter Golden Sienna. The transition was pretty seamless, since I already had a base of red in my hair, and you never want to go more than a couple of shades than your current locks for the best effects. Using non-permanent dye solutions also are less harsh on your hair’s composition than regular dyes and allow for a bit of a color boost without an over the top commitment.
Use a gloss or mask once per week

If you are into fashion colors, the gel nail “aesthetic,” and are non-committal about actual gel, then it’s time you’ve met your match. Essie’s new gel couture nail polish line launches this month (June, 2016) with 42 new shades that mimic the quality, craftmanship, and expectations of couture attire. The long-wear polishes lasts up to 14 days, and its recommended to apply two coats with the high gloss top coat overlaid for an LED lamp-free ample amount of color protection and shine quotient. The colors are christened with fashion-inspired names, such as Rock the Runway, Couture Curator, Stitch by Stitch, and Hang up the Heels, borken out into the four themed collections of Atelier, First Look, Fashion Show, and After Party. Each bottle features a distinctive new twisted glass design so that you can distinguish between essie’s signature line and the gelcouture polishes.
Each shade, including the top coat, retails for $11.50 per bottle at GelCouture.com, essie.com, and fine salon and beauty destinations nationwide.

Trying on makeup? Fun! Returning makeup? Not so much. It seems like most of the time, you have to have a special sense of ESP to figure out what shades may look best on you in the bottle or tube, which, if you don’t guess it right, can be a costly mistake to make. The Plum Perfect app simplifies things by operating as a virtual beauty assistant, using a selfie to suggest shades that will look best with your complexion in less than a minute.
The free service goes on step further with its Girl Seeks Sample feature, the FIRST of its kind to not only use color-matching technology but also offers up samples that you can try for free or as little as $2, with no subscription commitment, so that you can ensure you have the perfect color and product for you before making a purchase. It’s a pretty foolproof way to experiment with new colors and to become introduced to new brands that you’ve never tried before, such as IMAN Cosmetics or the recently launched Jay Manual Beauty line, which is only about one year old on the market. You can also create lists if wishlist items you’d like to have, and request samples that Plum Perfect will work to procure for you. Pretty cool, right? Technology is amazing, and when you combine it with makeup sampling…the pretty possibilities are endless!
The Plum Perfect app requires iOS 8.0 or later., and is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
