The Anti-Aging Products You Won’t Want to Miss
Who wants aging skin? Absolutely nobody. I’ll take a bunch of other things that come with age, like experience and wisdom, but it would be ever so ideal if I could pair it with my skin from my early 20s. Although nothing has been proven yet to permanently rid the skin of wrinkles and lines, at least you can reduce the appearance of them with our picks of top products. See the slideshow above for the very best of anti-aging products from brands including Clinique, Darphin, Jurlique, Avon ANEW, Dermalogica, and more. These are a Few of My Favorite Things
‘Tis the holiday season, and here’s a final roundup of some great indulgent holiday gifts and items that we’ve tested over here at FPD to give to others, and of course, to lavish upon yourself too!

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, $30, comes in a universally flattering tint, makes a perfect, even-toned canvas to layer your foundation and makeup. Ifyou haven’t tried primer yet, start with this one; most likely you’ll never want to try another one!
European Wax Center Ingrown Hair Serum, $25. No one realllly wants to talk about ingrown hairs; they just magically want them to go away! Use this serum as a preventive measure in frequently shaved areas, and it’s also safe to use after a wax. It has glycolic acid to get rid of the bumps and remove the skin, as well as has moisturizers and antiseptic to remove bacteria and soothe the skin.
Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Orchid Hush, is unlike any other blush I’ve EVER used! The gel texture is malleable, almost like a lipstick, and easily melts and smooths into the skin for a natural glow. Although this is my favorite shade, there are nine others to choose from in this new long wear formulation. Available for $7.99, starting in January 2012.
Converse Chuck Taylor Winter Glitz Collection in Black, $59.95, was a recent giveaway at FPD, and I also got to keep a fabulous pair for myself! Pair with an lbd and some leg warmers, or let them live under the baby bells of your new flared jeans.
ShoeDazzle.com’s Signature Sole Collection in Chanelle, $39.95, is sure to add some oomph to that holiday party or special occasion you have to attend. A color like nude is very big right now, and will perfectly transition into the warmer months once you banish opaque tights and hosiery from your wardrobe daily rotation. FYI, all shoes at ShoeDazzle are $39.95; sign up for free to check our their sparkly holiday selections and to customize your footwear, jewelry, and accessory preferences at the site.
The Sears Wish Book Holiday Party that I attended this past week not only gifted me an amazing Keurig Single-Cup Home Brewing System (yay for Caribou Coffee cups!), but also introduced me to a bunch of other great holiday ideas for yourself, a family member, or friend. Peruse the catalog of items, which include thoughtful items that anyone can use such as a jewelry box, a Homedics Pedicure Foot Spa, a Nikon Coolpix Camera, and a Conair Infinity Spin Brush.
Orly Nail Polishes with a mini holiday French lace emory board from Sally Beauty are THE perfect holiday gift for friends, trust me on this (the pic of this trio of bottles is from my personal stash). The colors are shiny and rich, the bottles have an ergonomic, easy grip handle, and what an ingenious idea to include a mini nail file with every bottle?!? They are PERFECT for travel, and come in some great metallic, sparkly, and shimmery shades for holiday.

Introducing Maybelline New York’s Newest Products: Long-Lasting Makeup
[image via Maybelline.com]
We’ve all experienced it — you spend a good half an hour meticulously applying foundation, blush, shadows, mascara and lipstick only to devastatingly discover how quickly your look has vanished upon arrival at your destination. Tragic, perhaps, especially after spending absurd amounts of money on products that promise extended-wearability. Maybelline understands this concern and are excited to announce their newest products devoted to long-wearing makeup! Captivated yet? Read on for details…
[Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush]
FACE:
At last night’s product launch, Maybelline unveiled a “Dream” team trio of long-lasting coverage from a foundation, concealer and a blush. The Dream Nude Airfoam foundation brings air-infused technology to your face. The Dream Lumi Touche highlighter and concealer is a two-in-one gel based imperfection hider. Finally, the Dream Bouncy Blush is as fun as it sounds, while it melts right into your skin. Plus, all application can be done by hand – no brushes needed! Say goodbye to touch-ups; you won’t be missed!
[Illegal Lengths Mascara, $8.95]
[24 Hour Color Tattoo Cream Shadows]
EYES:
For mascara, Maybelline shifted focus from volume to length with their new Illegal Lengths mascara. At just $8.95, you’re getting firm, long lashes with innovative 4 mm fibers. The brush, fibers, and formula may prove to make even extensions jealous! Is mascara not enough? Don’t fret, they’ve launched 24 Hour Color Tattoo Cream Shadows to compliment your newly elongated lashes. Thanks to intense pigments and true color payoff, these shadows will not crease or migrate, as cream shadows tend often do. With 10 rad shades from neutral to statement hue varieties, there’s definitely something for work and/or play. Feel free to layer, blend, and line (as I will with the Painted Purple!) for a quick all-eyes-on-you look.
[Maybelline Super Stay Stain Gloss, $8.99]
[…and its fancy inner reservoir applicator!]
LIPS:
Last, but not least, get ready for luscious lips! The longest wear lipstick on the market, Maybelline just launched Super Stay 14 Hour Lipstick in 20 shades of red, plum, pink and nude. At just $8.99, you’re guaranteed a lightweight flush of color that will move with your lips and never tighten. If gloss is more your vibe, you get the best of both worlds with the Super Stay Stain Gloss (also $8.99). The 10 shades of gloss dry rapidly to a stain with a fresh, “barely there” feel. You’ll be in awe over the applicator (not marker-like at all!) with its cool inner reservoir designed to deliver the precise amount of product needed. Go over your lips once and you’re done!
Thanks to fresh technology, sheer genius, and a bit of makeup-problem empathy, Maybelline has produced a wearable face with staying power. After all, our makeup should last as long as our nights!
All Maybelline products mentioned will be available in January of 2012.
