[Red Door hair stations]
I’ve been to Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas throughout my life, both in Pittsburgh and New York, and have never been disappointed with the services received. Hair, however, is a category that I’ve never tried out, and courtesy of the spa & salon, I received a complimentary cut. The opulent setting of the salon was clean, minimalist, and comfortable, with an illuminated space overlooking NYC’s Fifth Avenue. The hair washing chairs blew me away; they had the capability to completely recline to almost a sleeper-like status, and also massaged your back as you got washed – nice!
[The washing station – with those AMAZING chairs!]
Billy Williams was my amicable and absolutely genius stylist, who totally got my hair misgivings, maintenance level (low), and goal (long but not completely void of volume). He artfully and carefully trimmed to clean my split ends while boosting my style and texture quotient. Growing out my bangs is a pain that I will have to bear a little longer, but Billy suggested taming my cowlick in the front with some hair spray so that the bangs maintain their sideswept shape throughout the day. It makes SO much sense – I wish I had thought of it before!
Overall, an A+ experience; check out the Red Door Spa Locator to find a location near you, and see my before and after pics!

If you need to get some moisturizing cream, why not pick up a bottle that will go toward children in need? For a limited time, Cetaphil is donating a portion of the proceeds from its special edition package of the Moisturizing Cream (available at Walgreens) to Camp Wonder, a camp for kids ages 7-16 with serious and fatal skin diseases. Funded by the Children’s Skin Disease Foundation (CSDF), Camp Wonder is located in Livermore, California, and gives children the opportunity to be themselves by having fun, playing, and learning for a week despite the serious challenges that they may be encountering in their lives.
It costs $750 per child for a week of camp there, so every little bit counts! Plus, who couldn’t use an extra skin cream in their cabinet? Starting in September, purchased this specially marked jar for $14.99; Cetphail has alraedy donated a $100,00 grant to the camp as well as products to the children attending for camp and at-home use. Go Cetaphil!

The Olympics gave the nod toward wearing patriotic colors and various sporty fashion trends as we rooted for Team USA, but athletic-inspired fashion hasn’t run its full course, pun intended. Get ready for yet another summer sporting event fave, the US Open, with the Grand Slam Priti Nail Kit to further foster your spirit.
Using existing colors from their permanent collection, Priti has created hues to embody the glorified courts of this tennis championship: Miss Jeckyl for the US and Australian Open’s blue courts, Barbarossa for the French Open’s signature clay courts, and White Ballet Dahlia and Peporomia Pixie for Wimbledon’s all white dress code amongst grassy green courts.
The collection is available at www.pritinyc.com, and the full kit costs $37.50 (ndividual polishes retail for $12.50). Show your support for the fourth and final tennis major with polishes bound to be an ace!
