Cosmetics can be highly subjective, looking and working differently on various skin tones and types, as well as showing different levels of application and expertise due to the user’s skill level. That’s why it’s so important to be able to truly play with the makeup items you’re considering before making a purchase, as well as soliciting helpful advice from a professional knowledgeable with the brand. E.l.f. Cosmetics (eyes lips face) has recently expanded its Studio Store offerings to a second location in the Financial District, close to the seaport, the main thorough fare of Broadway, and landmarks such as Wall Street, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, and off-price retailer department store Century 21.
There you will be able to check out the latest offerings from the brand alongside favorite standbys, receive a courtesy makeover from an e.l.f. makeup artist, or even take a makeup application class. I perused the store with Achelle Dunaway, e.l.f. Cosmetics’ enthusiastic Creative Director , who explained new features of this store, such as a display section to aptly gaze upon the brand’s various palettes and kits (see pic above) which provide an even more tremendous bang for your buck, such as the e.l.f. Studio 111 Piece Everyday Palette, currently on sale for $25 (which means it only costs about 22 cents per shade!). Everything at e.l.f. is incredibly affordable, which means you’ll be able to walk out with skincare, tools, makeup, and more without the shopper’s remorse.
Achelle helped me pick out a few items that she was excited about and work well with my complexion, such as the Blush Palette in Light ($6), Stipple Brush($3), SPF 20 Face Primer ($6) and BB Cream SPF 20 ($6), while I stocked up on a few of my favorites: the Nail Polish Remover Pads($2), Eyeshadow “C” Brush ($3), and two new must-haves: the HD Blush in Headliner ($3) and the e.l.f. Studio Moisturizing Lipstick in Coral Cutie. With options to test out and play with color beforehand and prices that everyone can afford, e.l.f. Cosmetics continues to keep makeup right where it should be: in the realm of fun! E.l.f’s new Studio Store is located at 139 Fulton Street in NYC’s Financial District, see here for store hours and phone number.
