With this new line, Monroe’s classic look is re-imagined for the modern woman who loves fashion as much as she did. The pieces are ultra-feminine with a touch of retro flair from playful halter dresses with a cinched waist, to gingham tie-front button down tops, and pink polka dot denim pants. Soft blues and pinks remind us of her sweetness while the deeper tones of red, black and white evoke her famous sultry side. Each piece will retail from $29 to $89, giving every girl the affordable opportunity to look and feel like Marilyn. The collection is available now at 150 Macy’s stores and online at macys.com. These fun and flirty pieces show that Macy’s prefers Marilyn, and so does everyone else.

Walking into Ted Baker London‘s stuy for the debut of this season’s collection took me back to the glamorous days of the ’20s. The interior was welcoming with leather armchairs and side tables decked out with opulent accessories such as crystal bow clutches and wallets (alongside a book or two). This popular London brand kept with its nostalgic aesthetic that also had a ’50s glam quotient via vintage floral prints and tweed blazers, and of course a traditional trench coat (a must-needed item to accommodate the London weather).
But the collection also incorporated many updated, contemporary components including conversational patterns, vivid colors, and great hardware accents. Ted Baker London’s artful use of pleats seen throughout the collection on dresses and tops married a sophisticated and playful tone to the lineup. All of these pieces, whether it be the rainbow window dress or the safari clutch, have such personality that they make a statement all its own.

The Theme: It’s a Chanel world after all

About the Collection: Chanel rules the world! At least that was the idea conveyed by the massive globe that was the centerpiece to Karl Lagerfeld’s most recent fashion spectacle. Glittering tweed jackets and short flared skirts were a favorite pairing, while coats that were cut short in the front and long in the back reworked these classic pieces with a sartorial mullet-inspired ensemble. The accessories captured a lot of attention as well, with metal hardware seen on the leather thigh high boots, and small ornamental globes were the evening bags of choice, while the standout pieces were the fur helmets, appearing in soft shades of blue, mint, red or pink. With each new collection, Chanel seems to decree a manifesto for how women should dress and we are more than willing to be loyal followers in this new world order.

About the Collection: Designer Olivier Rousteing got in touch with his maximalist side for fall, crafting strong silhouettes in bold colors in order to produce a nostalgic moment that harkened back to the flashy ’80s. The collection was comprised of jackets with prominent shoulder embellishment in a diamond-shaped pattern and paired with draped silk miniskirts or metallic harem pants. With these eye-catching jewel toned pieces, the Balmain girl will be able to outshine everyone wherever she roams.
