When it comes to my hair, I must admit that I am not the most inventive with my everyday look. Aside from brushing it out of my face every morning, there is not much attention I give to my locks. So when I got the chance to have a styling session from blow, the new york blow dry bar using its newest product, I was more than a little excited about seeing what blow’s genius stylists would do with my thick head of hair.
The results, of course, did not disappoint; my stylist introduced me to Textstyle Dry Texture Spray, a from its newest line of texture series products. This powerful little spray is the perfect finishing touch to any dry style and helps to achieve the perfect texturized look, from soft waves to french ponytails or to refresh your already blown out look. The lightweight formula won’t leave behind any greasy residue or flakes and is long lasting so that your style can be recreated the very next day. It’s also Keratin compliant, sulfate free, paraben free and sodium-chloride free.
After my session was over, I left with a pinned braided “blowfish” style with soft to the touch hair, instead of the traditional “crunch” feel that I’ve experienced with other products. I walked away wishing I could start every morning with a styling session at blow, and now with my bottle of Textstyle Dry Texture Spray in tow, I feel like I quite possibly do have a stylist in a can!
Textstyle Dry Texture Spray is available at blowpro.com, Ulta, HSN, Nordstrom, Macy’s and fine salons around the world. A 5.6 oz bottle retails for $19.75 and a 2 oz bottle is $9.50.

The Show: Fendi
The Theme: It’s Technologically Correct
The Color Palette: Red,white, orange, blue, white, pink, orange and black
The Collection’s Signature, Standout Look: We are living in an age where technology is involved in absolutely everything, so it was only a matter of time until its influences started showing up in our clothes as well. Using laser cut technology, many of the sheer pieces featured a motif of falling flowers as well as geometric patterns cut into sharp corners on jackets, dresses, and skirts. These precisely cut pieces recalled grid patterns found in the digital world reinforcing the stated technological theme. Fendi’s signature fur showed up in the accessories adorning silver purses with bundles of multi-colored fuzzy options, showing that amidst all this change and technological innovation, there are some things, like a well-crafted fur, that can never be digitally replaced.

The Show: Emporio Armani
The Theme: Ice for Spring
The Color Palette: Silver, blue, green, black, white, and pink
The Collection’s Signature, Standout Look: Icy pastels and florals appeared in every concoction imaginable, from wide leg pants to floaty cocktail dresses paired with iridescent silver tights, creating a show that exuded softness and femininity. One glittering mid-length dress floated in layers of chiffon stitched with silver flower petals created a sophisticated aesthetic, but still retains a youthful, albeit put-together, spirit.

The Show: Prada
The Theme: Art Meets Fashion
The Color Palette: Green, red, yellow, bright blue, black, brown, and pink
The Collection’s Signature, Standout Look: Where art and fashion intersect, Prada is (obviously) at that angle. Inspired by muralists and the art world, the collection was stamped with slightly cartoonish, painted faces adorning everything from dresses, bags to fur coats and the elaborate backdrop of a set. Collage elements were shown in one particular dress that displayed a cartooned female face while other parts of the dress were adorned with three hues of crystals overlaying a bright blue slip made out of the same ribbed, knit material as the leg warmers (for spring!). If there was ever a case for wearable art, this collection would be the highly visible answer.

The Show: Gucci
The Theme: Luxurious Athletic Wear
The Color Palette: Black, red, beige, purple, gold, green and blue
The Collection’s Signature, Standout Look: If anyone can make track pants and mesh shirts look sleek opposed to sloppy, it’s certainly Gucci. For spring, designer Frida Giannini took a more sporty approach to the season, while still retaining Gucci’s signature sensuality. Kimon- sleeved cardigans printed with an art nouveau floral motif provided a nice alternative to a zip-up hoodie when paired with silk track pants, and a mesh triangle bra (which, coincidentally, was layered under many pieces of the collection). Appropriate sportswear for the gym, maybe not, but we can definitely see these relaxed, loose fitting pieces and its casual-meets-luxe concepts making an appearance at many a nightclub come 2014.
