The beauty market is just swimming in brands these days, so to really stand out to consumers, one must have a unique approach to the market, an interesting point of view, and good story. Launched in April of 2018,
Seed Phytonutrients has all of these things and more, and hopefully represents what’s in store for the future of beauty brands everywhere. Just as its name states, the brand works with independent American organic farmers to source seeds that then can be
cold-pressed to extract the oils for the products. Oils included are some of my favorites, such as olive, sunflower seed, camelina seed, and coconut oils. From lip balm to hand salve and soap to serum, the brand only launched this April and already has a well-edited roundup of products for face, body, and hair.
Based in Doylestown, PA, Seed founder Shane Wolf has previous experience as an executive at renowned brands Aveda, Redken, and Pureology, and in fact, Seed operates uniquely as an independent venture funded by L’Oréal. One of the (many) cool things about this sustainable beauty brand is that it not only has carefully considered the ingredients (which contain nutrient-rich omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, phytosterols, carotene and vitamins A, C, D and E), but also the packaging has not been left behind. The brand has included not only recycled and recyclable packaging, but specially-created shower-friendly paper bottles, made of 100% post-consumer recycled paper with a post-consumer recycled plastic liner. This equates to an amazing percentage of 60% less plastic used, compared to a standard bottle!
As you can probably tell, I’m all-around pretty enthusiastic about Seed Phytonutrients and hope you are too! Prices range from $12-$55 and can be purchased online at the brand’s website.
